✨ 5 T H I N G S ✨

Did you know you can book us for your event with just a few pieces of key information?

1️⃣ A pretty obvious one - the date. 📆

2️⃣ The location. Don’t worry if you haven’t booked your venue yet. Just the nearest town / postcode is enough for us to work out whether or not we can accommodate. 📍

3️⃣ A rough age range of the children attending. We arrange the tables slightly differently for children over 5, to give older children some extra space. This required additional tables and knowing the ages of the guests helps us to allocate stock accordingly. 🎀

4️⃣ Number of children - the final number doesn’t need to be confirmed until 6 weeks before, but we need to know an approximate at the time of booking. Please base this number on the maximum number of children attending. Exact numbers will be finalised later.🎉

5️⃣ Let us know which chair style you’d like - we can check if your first choice is available and suitable for your party size. 🪑

🎉 And that’s it - this information, along with a £50 deposit will secure your desired date in our diary. We’ll then be in touch around 6 weeks before your event to finalise everything. This is when you can let us know final numbers, event timings, which package you’d like, any theme/colour scheme and add any additional extras🪅

The Little Dining Club is two! Two years ago today we officially launched. I thought I’d just post some words I think of when I think about this journey:

✨ T H A N K Y O U , B U T ✨

I love to hear it. Okay, obviously I would much prefer to hear “I’d like to go ahead and book please” but I understand that providing information and quotes is part of my job. I know that my services aren’t going to be suitable for everyone and that other businesses might align better with different individuals and budgets.

I will hold my hands up and admit that before I owned my own business, I didn’t always respond to suppliers I messaged and left people hanging (I am soooo sorry). It was never intended to be rude at all, I just had lots of mental tabs open and mentally responded without actually responding, like we all do sometimes! Not to mention just simply forgetting 😬 We wouldn’t walk into a shop, have a conversation and then just turn around and walk out without a word. I suppose over email/ message we can sometimes overlook the fact that these types of interactions are still connections with humans, even if not the same as an actual human connection in a shop. Now I have this little business I always thank people for their time whether I’m going ahead with booking something or not.

Just a couple of little reminders to take from this:

💫Unfortunately I can’t hold dates without a deposit and if I don’t hear back, I have to assume I am being left hanging. Because it happens a lot and I’m used to it.
💫Let’s help small business owners out and just let them know if we don’t want to book or buy the thing. We can handle it, I promise!

✨ I F O N L Y ✨

If only planning a party was as easy as drawing a rainbow in the sand. Hosting parties certainly comes with its challenges. Some people love it while others less so. It’s the same for children - some love a big party with all their school friends, some will prefer an intimate gathering at home and others will enjoy being with their family or having a day out for their birthday. As long as your child is happy, that’s all that matters.

🫐 Last week I ran out of blueberries because my two devoured every last one. This week I bought extra, to find of course they don’t like them this week 🫠. This is why we can only plan parties so far in advance, because children’s likes and dislikes change like the wind. It’s quite refreshing really, because everything is temporary and it’s nice to not be put in ‘box’. A child might be a princess lover one week and a dinosaur fanatic the next, or love pirates AND mermaids.

So, planning a party with moving targets can be difficult, especially when we have to book things in advance to make it easier for our future selves, trying to get ahead where we can and keep on top of everything.

Create your own themes, do your own thing, let them be children and draw outside the lines. We’re only here, celebrating these younger years once - it’s messy and it’s beautiful and as long as it makes sense for your child, go for it! If that means making your own theme - do it! Mix the unicorns with the mermaids, or the pirates with the dinosaurs if they love both equal amounts.

When you book The Little Dining Club for your child’s party, we don’t need the finer details until 6 weeks before. You can get ahead and book, rest assured knowing you’ve got the date in our diary, and decide on the rest later.

If you find it overwhelming, my inbox is open. I’m often running through the structure of the party with my clients, offering suggestions when asked “what works well?” My children will be turning 6 and 4 in 2025 and while I’ve hosted a handful of parties for them, I’ve been part of a lot of parties over the last 2 years and I can help with logistics, timings and overall planning.

A little Friday update for you… our next business joining us at The Big Play is the superbly gorgeous … Megan first opened her super kiddie sized dining service in Essex - and we’ve had the pleasure of partnering with her at many parties! Megan is now covering North Essex and Ipswich… so we had to have her along to this event to show you what she can set up - need some dining for themed events, parties, reusable party ware, party kits, or just some cute cute and fun set ups where kids are involved? Megan is your lady!
