The Cheese & Charcuterie Platter is available to order for Christmas and New Year. Our signature platter is packed with a delicious selection of meats, cheeses and those all so important accompaniments. It also comes with two boxes of crackers and chutney.

Available to order as a full platter or as a box (small, medium & large).

Due to a few teething issues with the website we’ve been taking orders by DM so drop us a message if there’s anything you’d like to order. We’ll be open for grazing orders until the 23rd and then again from the 28th-31st.

If you were a fan of The PlayTown then this post is for you. It’s 9 months since we closed and as a business that I put my heart into, I still can’t help feeling immense sadness that we didn’t survive the aftermath of the past 3 years. However, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel and as many of you are local, I thought you might be interested to know what’s been going on at this end.

I’ve been busy beavering away at my little café, in Oakham and have just moved into offering graze catering (hence the name change). As former lovers of The PlayTown, you’ll know how much effort we put into making sure that our customers had the best experience and where food is concerned, there’s no difference.

Since offering charcuterie boards as an add-on at children’s parties, I’d long felt that there was a gap in the market locally for something truly special within the grazing space and that’s where ROMI Graze comes in!

With a significant focus on the finest produce, we are striving to become Rutland’s go-to caterer for all things grazing. Whether it’s a dinner party, wedding, funeral, baby shower or corporate event, we’ve got a beautiful, creative and stress-free catering solution to suit. Grazing tables, platters, boxes, boats and cups are all part of our offering. For large events we’ll travel within an hour of Oakham. We also offer exclusive use venue hire for more intimate occasions.

The website launches in a few days so if you’re local, we hope you’ll take a little peek and keep supporting us as we continue on our small business journey. If you’re not local, then we won’t be offended if you choose to unfollow us.

We’ve got good news….and some bad news!
 
Firstly the good news. After a lovely summer spending some quality time with our children, ROMI Café will reopen on Wednesday 6th September. As usual we’ll have our delicious speciality coffee on offer, along with a host of tasty items on our menu. Even more exciting is that we’ll be launching our catering offering which has been in the pipeline for a while. More to come on that next week.
 
So (and we know we’re about to break some hearts here) we’re sorry to say that ROMI Kitchen will not be returning, so the delicious Asian street food that you’ve come to love is no more. It’s been a huge success for us in terms of how busy we’ve been and the lovely reviews we’ve received. That said, we’ve made a decision as a family that timing wise, this path isn’t the right one for us to continue on at the moment.
 
A huge thank you to all of you that supported us. We loved meeting the customers, other local chefs and the foodies from the Thai Supper Club. We hope you’ll come and see us during the daytime in the café and continue to support our little business.
 
This account will shift to focus on the café and catering and obviously will be the first place we post if we decide to do any Asian street food pop-ups.

As the summer holidays approach, we have decided that now is a good time for some relaxation and family time. The cafe will now be closed throughout July and August. We hope you all have a safe and happy summer break with your loved ones. ❤️

Dear Customers,

At this time we will not be expanding our little operation to outside of Oakham, Barleythorpe and Langham 😢 We understand that some of you outside our delivery area are keen to try our food and are happy to travel. If you live outside the delivery area please can you DM us to see if we can accommodate your order as we hate to say no and because we only have limited slots where it is possible for you to arrange a collection. This way we can ensure that you are not waiting and that the food is as fresh as possible 😊

We’ve made a few changes to our menu recently so here’s a quick update on the deliciousness that we’re currently serving up! The chicken bao buns are 😋

As we popped on stories earlier in the week, one of us is turning 40 tomorrow (and she’s not happy about it 🤣) so we will only be delivering on Saturday this week. The 6-7pm slot is already fully booked but there is availability from 5-6pm and 7-8pm.

Are you thinking of what to have for dinner tonight? Unfortunately you will have to wait 24 hrs before these bad boys start going out for delivery. Little Seoul Kitchen Bulgogi Beef Bao Buns. Soft fluffy Bao Buns packed with yummy beef cooked to a secret recipe, with crispy Asian style salad, crispy shallots and dressed with our Gochujang Mayo. Crispy chicken Bao buns available for the first time this weekend along with our new veggie options. Don't forget our crispy double fried Yangyum chicken, sweet and spicy or sweet soy and ginger sauce. It's looking really busy this weekend so book now to avoid disappointment 😊
