Thankyou ----
All for coming and celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee it wouldn’t have been so successful if it wasn’t for you. It was a bit hit and miss with the weather at first and we were battling to hold down the gazebo’s but the weather was kind to us in the end.
There are a number of people here we need to express our grateful thanks too.
• The Parish Council for providing the funds for the event.
• St Bridgets Church and Adrian Brooke for the kind lending of the marquee
• The Methodist church and Brian Maddaford for lending the tables and chairs
• The Dartmoor commoners and Parish Council for purchasing the jubilee coins
• Ali and Martin Young- Glebe Park for getting the event up and running and providing the toilet along with Caroline and Darren Baker.
• Sarah, Mike, Hannah and Oliver from the White Hart for the bar and providing valuable support in putting this event together and prize for the quiz
• Dave and Lynn Heenan for creating the jubilee treasure hunt/quiz and providing wonderful decorated prizes and assistance.
• David Trant for providing the staging/hay bales and vintage tractor.
• Lyndsay and Paul and family for volunteering with flyer distribution and running the activities today plus their general support throughout.
• Esther and Patrick Winter plus the village hall committee for the loan of gazebo’s and other equipment.
• Warren Gilmore, Sophie Friend and Robyn Hughes for the bracelet making, face painting and hair braiding all of which have donated their time, effort and equipment.
• Bill Thirtle for the bell ringing which heralded the start of the event
• Caroline, Darren and Charlie Baker for running the tug of war.
• Jo Pritchard for organizing the power supply
• Rose and Terry Pritchard our brilliant chefs
• Colin and Michaela Riverside Stores for the ice cream and sundries
• Steve Dott and Pippa McDougal for the entertainment
• Jenni Thirtle and Georgina Hodgson for Bridestowe in Bloom and Church Decoration
• Charlie Vernon for reserving and obtaining the royal thrown.
• And I can’t even begin to thank everybody who volunteered in putting up the magnificent marquee. It was a challenge but we got there in the end.
• Gerald for organizing the recycling and general rubbish and helping hold down gazebo’s
• Chris, Helen Proctor and family for helping clear up the morning after.
• And if I have missed anybody I apologise it was all greatly appreciated.
Thankyou x
