Also absolutely delighted to be a DUAL finalist for the Top Tier Awards this year!! Mental! I was hoping to be nominated again for videographer of the year so was thrilled to see my name there but a real surprise to find myself also a finalist for photographer of the year! A huge thank you to anyone who voted for me in either category and congratulations to all of the other finalists from across all the categories! A huge array of talented people, an honour to be in your company!

My Top 10 of 2024! Last year I did this as a video but going for the grid post this year, I may do a video in time where I’ll talk through why each of these made it into my top 10 for the year. Each has their reason and usually I pick these for a “new” type of reason. So it could be a new technique, a new location, a new challenge due to difficult lighting etc. But then there are also some that are there for compositional elements I really like - some framing, negative space. Then a few others for the emotion or story that the picture tells. A huge variety or reasons which is why I often like the video side where I can explain what I like about each one! But I do like the idea of having them here as a quick option to look back on! Overall, a really fantastic year for me for video and photo, hoping to meet many more wonderful people at next year’s weddings. A huge thank you to everyone who had me as a part of their day this year, and all the very best for all the couples, guests and fellow wedding suppliers for 2025! I’ll likely post a fireworks display tomorrow to see in the year but that’ll be me for a while as my wedding season kicks off in April! My final “job” of a wonderful and very busy 2024 saw me back with the wonderful for their annual fundraiser ceilidh at the . Also great to see the guys from again! This year has seen me at over 30 weddings, just shy of 10 graduation balls/events and still teaching the youth about plants and animals! It’s been one stacked year, but what a way to finish it with this lot! I’ve been photographing the AUCS ladies for several years now, met some absolutely wonderful people throughout that time and delighted to say I’ll be back for their end of year ball again in March! Thank you all again for asking me along, I always have so much fun at these events seeing so many happy faces! Here’s 10 of my favourites from the ceilidh on Wednesday!

My final wedding of an incredible 2024 saw me back again at the lovely yesterday (fast becoming one of my favourites!) for the wedding of Louise and Mike! I first met Louise just over 10 years ago when we worked together at King’s Camp - a summer camp for kids. After a couple of years of that, I hadn’t seen Louise again until last year when we crossed paths at a venue open day - quite a throwback!! The day itself had the lot, a busy prep, some lovely first looks, a beautiful ceremony, wonderful speeches, a lovely first dance and then we were treated to a fantastic fireworks display to finish the night and season for me! What a wonderful way to finish the best year of my career in this industry! Now to focus on my editing pile!! A huge congratulations to Louise and Mike, thank you both so much for asking me to be a part of your day!

Saturday saw my fourth and final visit of the year to the beautiful for Isla and Joe’s wedding! A very relaxed and chilled morning with both Isla and Joe, some great tunes being played with the girls where I was struggling not to sing along to!! Then some familiar faces for the guys as Joe is “one of our own” wedding supplier being in the brilliant band, with fellow band mate Matt being best man - it was great to see the guys and get a good catch up! An emotional first look preceded a fantastic ceremony in the stunning ballroom. The afternoon saw a surprise for all as 3 big cows arrived out of nowhere!! Three wonderful speeches saw us into the night and after a wonderful first dance the ceilidh got into full swing to finish off a lovely day! Great to see the dream team of Clarke and Doug again on photos, and thanks again guys for spotting my camera as I left!!

First look! Always a highlight of the day for me as the emotions are usually running quite high and the ceremony is just round the corner! It’s always exciting seeing who the bride would like a first look with on my questionnaire, this year I’ve had: father, mother, uncle, siblings, bridesmaids, grandparents, close friends - the choice is yours!

From my perspective, finding a suitable spot is often the challenge for this part of the day - as final bride prep is often in a small and messy room, where space could be tight or random bed posts could get in the way! So usually I’ll scope out the area in the morning and part of my reasoning here is to find some options that could fit well for the bride’s first look requests!

Another visit to the beautiful on Saturday filming Adrianna and Ross’ wedding! A cloudy day got off to a good start as I got my drone work done just before the rain came down, but fortunately it didn’t stay the sun even peaked out later in the afternoon! A lovely ceremony in the marquee and then five speeches followed, where we even got a visit from Spider-Man!! That’s a first for me at a wedding!! Ha! Into the evening saw a beautiful first dance and father daughter dance to finish what was a fantastic day for a lovely couple! Thank you both so much for having me along, and a huge congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Craig!
