So in the past week the boss and I have celebrated a big, big wedding anniversary (clue is in my jewellery). Mr D is the quite man in the background that keeps every running like clockwork. Without him their literally would not be a Molly the mobile gin bar. Happy anniversary Mr D.

I've had my flag (printed by the rather fabulous ) for a while now and it's at the mercy of the wind at any given event. But at one point at the fabulous on Saturday, it played its part beautifully. Yes Derek isn't looking and yes my Molly bunting on the front has fallen down but to me this is pure joy itself. Enjoy it whilst it lasts - next time the flag will be backwards or all wrapped up or totally invisible, sideways on.

I'm not a big fan of being photographed (blame a lifetime of insecurities) even though all the social gurus tell us that it's really important to put a face to the business.
This fab picture from last years Ossett in the 40's event is definitely an exception to that. My double chin is on show and my lippy is smudged but it shows the absolute joy that working on Molly brings. I love meeting new people and if a dog is involved, (a rather delightful whippet in this case), then I'm smitten.
I can't wait to head back to Ossett in April to catch up with old friends and to make new ones. Sadly we have had to scale back the number of events we do with Molly this year but I can guarantee those we do will be full of joy with a smattering of amazing gin!

A lovely sunny day in Ossett town centre.
Looking forward to be being back here at the end of April (29th) for the annual food and drink festival.
If you haven't ever been to Ossett this event is well worth the trip.
Free parking in the town centre, loads of yummy food & drink and entertainment too. Something for all ages and all palettes. Don't forget to pop over and say hi to us on Molly.

Down to the last couple of tables for our first gin & pottery evening of the year next Friday. (31st)

In case you are new to this and not sure if you fancy it let me answer a few questions for you.

What age group is it for? We have literally had all ages at these events from uni students enjoying their pre's with us to mums & daughters and the whole range in between. We've had mates, families and even couples on date night.
I'm not a fan of gin, is there anything else? Obviously we love local gins and want to share them with you but we do have a small but select range of other spirits for you to enjoy. We also have a full range of mixers as we know that many of you are not fans of tonic. If you are designated driver or just don't drink we have a nice range of soft drinks for you and it's not all Diet Coke or lemonade (though they are available!)
What do I do if I'm not very arty? Trust me I'm not even that good at colouring but Jane and her team have managed to get all kinds of lovely things out of me. You can be a simple or as extravagant as you like and there is a huge range of pottery items for you to paint from dog bowls to mugs to tea light holders and everything in between.
If you have any other questions for us do myself or Jane and we will answer them for you.
Seriously it's a great start to the weekend!

CHANGE OF DATE.

Due to a previous appointment with a Mr Elton John the gin and pottery evening has been put back a week to Friday 31st March. Apologies but Mr John has postponed and rearranged the date 4 x and now Eurovision is forcing another change 🤦‍♀️
Tables still available for what is promising to be another great evening of creativity, giggles and some of the best gin (or rum) that the NW has to offer. DM for more details or contact Jane to book.
I promise to wear my Elton specs as penance for rearranging the date!

And so another season begins on Molly...
So a quick reminder of who we are:
Molly is our gorgeous vintage horse box bar. Like the Forth bridge work on Molly is never done. We finished the year replacing all of the flooring and we are starting the year working on her electrics - keeping them up to date and all in good working order. That will be followed by some internal carpentry work to make sure she looks as good on the inside as she does on the outside.
We are Derek and Lisa, owners, bar staff, logistics and any other role that being a small business owner requires. We have owned Molly since 2019 and are heading into our 4 year with her. Every year we learn something new and improved to bring to our customers.
Our year opens on Friday 24th March when we host the first Pottery & Gin evening of the year alongside the fabulous Jane . It will be a great evening full of the very best gin, rum & vodka from across the NW (plus a non alcoholic option) and a chance to bring out your inner creative with Jane in the studio. More details to follow in next post.
We do still have some 2023 dates available over the spring/ summer months but our calendar is a little reduced this year because of other work commitments so if you have a special occasion to celebrate this year or if you just fancy a good knees up with family, friends or work colleagues don't hesitate to get in touch and we will do our very best to help you out.

June should have been festival month for Molly! Instead a throwback to a hot summer day last year when we danced the night away at a private festival in Cheshire. I miss this!

So we had a pop brass band and now a punk ukulele band. I kid you not! #alltastescateredfor
