Are you ready for Christmas?! If you are looking for gifts and decorations or just fancy a bacon sandwich or some homemade cake then come along and support you local community at our Christmas Fair tomorrow. All the stalls are hosted by suppliers from no further afield than Otley (and they're all rather fantastic!) and all profits will go into supporting the village hall and the community groups who use it. There will also be the odd Christmas tree for sale! Hope to see you all there...

Christmas is fast approaching so get ahead of the game and come to our annual Christmas tree and gift sale on the 30th November! There you will be able to buy your presents from excellent local procedures whilst also supporting your village hall.

Our neighbours are still looking for help - can anyone help them out?

HELP REQUIRED: St Mary & St Abanoub Church in Arthington is seeking a friendly, welcoming (and, when necessary, assertive) Sunday Morning Car Park Steward to work alternate weeks with our existing steward. The role is to make the best use of the available parking space, maintain at all times an access route to our neighbour, and, once full, to direct cars to park elsewhere. Thank you Arthington for such a fantastic festive Saturday! We raised a lot of money for Arthington Village Hall through the Christmas tree sale and gift fair as well as another brilliant meeting of Arthington Beer Club.

Please send us pictures of your decorated trees as we love to see them and if you are still looking for your tree this year we have a handful left (sizes between 4 and 6ft). If you are interested please just send us a message or go to the Christmas Fair at Leathley Village Hall on the 9th December where any that are left will be on sale.

Join us this Saturday from 9am at Arthington Village Hall and get ready for Christmas at our annual tree and gift fair.

One again we have some brilliant stalls from (very) local businesses selling everything from gin to festive wood carvings and, of course, outside there will be our usual range of premium Christmas trees.

To keep your energy up there will also be fantastic bacon sandwiches, cakes and other festive treats and from 4pm Arthington Beer Club will be meeting too (this time with Bute pizza keeping us from being hungry!)

So keep it local, support your community and get ready for Christmas all at the same time! Hope to see you all there.

The co-Chair of our Village Hall Committee, Sam Glassup, has been playing rugby for nearly 40 years and, as he approaches retirement from the game, he has been really honored to be invited to play in an ALL STARS match in Aid of Life For A Kid.

He is trying to raise as much money as he can for the charity so please take a look at the event and consider a donation? You can also attend on the 13th at Featherstone Rovers Stadium (7.30pm) to watch and see if he can keep up with the ex professionals and other invited players. For those who aren’t aware of the My LEEDS Summer Project, below in the images is a little reminder. It’s one of LEEDS 2023 and The Year of Culture signature projects and sees a celebration of creativity and culture in each ward.



Whilst our Ward event is on the 15th July at Ralph Thoresby School, you are welcome to attend any of the others too. You just need to book a ticket via www.leeds2023.co.uk.

We have a fabulous line up for the day. Lots of music, performers, sports and creative workshops, art, stalls, food, climbing wall, bouncy castle, face painters. There is literally something for all ages whether you want to sit back and soak in the atmosphere or join in with one of the sessions.



The venue is wheelchair and pushchair friendly, working dogs welcome and we have baby changing facilities.



We hope to see you all there and celebrate the creativity and culture in our ward.

Big thanks to The Conservation Volunteers 'I dig trees' initiative who have provided us with a new hedge! For a while now we've regularly had to chase sheep from the car park back into their field. These new plants have some growing to do but soon we'll have new native hedge along the car park boundary again. Many thanks TCV Hollybush
