One for the diary! Supporting local producers and the community - and yes, some great entertainment 🎺🎤🥁

Ottery Food Fest takes place right next to Otter Garden Centres.

We are delighted to announce the Ottery Food & Families entertainment line up!
The Ottery St Mary Silver Band will play near the entrance to welcome visitors before the opening of the event.
We have Line Dancing from Martine Strawbridge, the popular La La Choir then performances from JW Dance, the passionate Devon based dance school with a friendly, inclusive ethos.
Wonky Buzzard will be playing their blend of mainly 60s and 70s covers plus a few originals.
Just Liv and Bob will be playing classics from Amy Winehouse to blues and soul and are a guaranteed feast to the ears and will make you smile.
To close, we have indie rock from The Upper Hand recently crowned ‘Devon’s Best New Artist 2023/24’ & Battle of the Bands 2023 winner delivers classic rock, pop, indie and blues tunes that leave audiences with smiles on their sweaty faces!

If you've been deadheading your sweet peas hopefully you'll still be enjoying a show of flowers.

But if you do have seed pods, you could dry them out (for about four weeks), pop them in the fridge then sow undercover in mid-October ready for an early flowering next year. Sweet! 💐

Stargazer lilies were actually created in 1974 by Californian lily breeder Leslie Woodriff. The idea was to create a lily that looked up towards the sky. Hence the name! ✨

Yes, yes, we know it's only August and Beautiful Days hasn't even taken place yet, but this sells out very quickly and we do love seeing all the runners in festive fancy dress having fun (and usually getting muddy!) on the 10km course.

After the wettest spring since 1986, butterfly numbers have really dropped this summer in the UK.

Although late in the season, we're now seeing a reasonable show of butterflies in the gardens.

We hope we've helped with our extended no-mow policy. A recent study found wilder lawns boost butterfly numbers, so perhaps something to consider for next year.

Each year there are restrictions to public access during the Build and Break for Beautiful Days festival, to ensure everyone stays safe. This year these will be in place from August 5th to September 1st.
