We bought these gorgeous olive trees from back in the autumn. Unfortunately not being up to speed on the fiendish Easterly winds down here we’ve often woken up to find them horizontal! The pots we planted them in were just not right, we needed a wider base. So thankfully I found these from .
They were so helpful !
Especially as the first ones I ordered were so big they would work as a plunge pool! ( note to self don’t order online after wine!!) anyway finally got the right size and now these olives are going nowhere!!!

Hello!! just a little update and a new message for 2025.
I mentioned last year was one of change for Posyflowers a shift for us personally and professionally.
Well 2025 is going to be different yet again. You may or may not know (depending on how closely you follow us !) that we’ve changed location…. Quite a change to be fair! We have ventured down to the South West . This has been a dream of ours for many years and we’ve finally got here!
I will still pop back to Oxford as arranged with clients, though we’re now not taking on new projects in Oxfordshire . The bulk of our work will now be in Cornwall!
We are excited for the challenges of what we can and can’t grow by the coast .
Our grid will look somewhat different over the coming months as we evolve and adapt. Thank you for all the support and good wishes we received !

My next obsession… a sedum roof - or basically anything sedum or succulent inclined!
We had a delicious lunch and then i@obsessed over the succulents
Oh what joy to know these grow with ease in Cornwall and I ( hopefully) won’t lose them all in the winter as I do in Oxford!!

So here’s us two… it’s now over a year since ‘posyflowersandgardens’ began and boy what a year it’s been! Super busy and lots of graft but we’ve loved it!posyflowers has taken a on new ‘limb’ so to speak, and though there have been less flowers and more gardens, We’ve totally loved the making and maintaining of gardens!
There’s still much change ahead of us in 2024 and looking forward, it can only be a good thing!😁

May and the sun is shining yay! On my stories you’ll see I took a bucolic walk in Port meadow nature reserve today - just wonderful….
Apologies in advance to all Hay fever sufferes but, love it or hate it - now is the time for wonderful Hawthorn blossom. AKA May blossom and Quckthorn. I found out some facts courtesy of too….
There is an old English saying ‘Ne’er cast a clout till May be out’ is believed to mean – you shouldn’t remove warm clothing (clout) until hawthorn (also known as May) is flowering. Some people believe it refers to the month of May; either interpretation reminds us how changeable UK weather can be in late spring. …. I’d always carry a spare woolly probably up until August tbh !!
Anyway here are some beautiful images I’ve taken of this gorgeous flower and I know it’s meant to be bad luck to bring flowering hawthorn into the house but it hasn’t stopped me….
Sybil made a particularly beautiful May Queen a few years back .. I’m sure you’ll agree. 😉

Green Alkanet…. Pentaglottis sempervirens…Often mistaken for Forget-me-not, Comfrey or Borage.
Some will call it a wildflower, others a w**d. If it’s where you don’t want it then yes quite invasive as the tap roots go deep. Speaking of roots… it’s thought they were a substitute for coffee and also were used as a natural dye for textiles.
But, it’s a wonderful ground cover and who can deny the beauty of those star shaped electric blue flowers ?
Oh and the flowers are edible and make for a lovely garnish on salads or in an ice cube in your fave drink!!!💙💙💙

It’s always satisfying to see a garden you’ve given love and attention to from a different perspective!
This belongs to a lovely client of ours. They wanted the decking repairing where it had rotted and all the trees and shrubs pruned and shaped. We filled the pots with bulbs ( out in full bloom now!) pressure washed all the stone slabs and gave a lick of paint to the shed and fencing! Good as new!
What do you think?

Hello February! The shortest month , my birth month and today we start it with sunshine…..☀️
February 1-2 marks midway point between winter solstice and spring equinox. is a pagan celebration of light … it’s also a Gaelic festival called Saint Brigid’s day …. Finally we have increasing daylight and the gradual return of warmth.
Get outside today … witness all the snowies showing their faces as well as all the other shoots pushing their way up!
Light a candle to welcome in the light after these dreary dark days …. February isn’t so bad…
It’s a time of new beginnings and renewal….. I’ll take that!
