I never pass up an opportunity to attend a Wild Goose Theatre production, and this opening night performance of Romeo and Juliet reminded me exactly why.

This little known fact makes the staging of King Lear at Oxford Castle all the more meaningful.

This little known fact makes the staging of King Lear at Oxford Castle all the more meaningful.

Did you know that the earliest surviving written record of King Lear's story is in "History of the Kings of Britain"?

It was written by Geoffrey of Monmouth in St George's Chapel, underneath Oxford Castle. The crypt still remains!🏰

See William Shakespeare's "King Lear", a Siege Theatre production, in the unique setting of our Castleyard. Book now: https://www.oxfordcastleandprison.co.uk/events/event/king-lear/

Calling all theatre lovers. We are on the look out for anyone interested in helping out with front of house or back stage, for our upcoming production of King Lear at Oxford Castle.

If you, or anyone you know, is free any evening/s between 1st and 13th of August, we'd love to hear from you.

There's loads to get involved with and it would be a great experience for any up and coming actors looking to get involved in some local theatre.

Feel free to message us directly, either here or via our email address, [email protected].

Many Thanks
