Lock to Lock Swim – A Celebration of Spirit and Water
Today’s Lock 2 Lock swim was nothing short of magical. In the still, quiet waters of the upper Thames, swimmers moved with heart and harmony, embodying the true spirit of open water adventure.
Our deepest congratulations to all who shared in this special connection to the landscape—and to one another. To the 10K Skins swimmers, your fortitude commands our utmost admiration. Full respect.
From the swift to the steady, fast or leisurely, every stroke was a part of a collective celebration—of nature, resilience, and the joy of wild swimming.
We invite you to read the reflections of one swimmer, whose words capture the heart of the day.
To everyone who took part—thank you. For your struggles, your triumphs, and your presence.
Dear Lock2Lock Team,
I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for such a fantastic event.
From start to finish, everything was extremely well organised, and I truly appreciated the kindness and helpfulness of everyone involved.
The registration team were so friendly and welcoming, creating a lovely atmosphere right from the beginning. There was a great sense of camaraderie among the swimmers, which made the day even more special.
A big thank you also to the kayaker in the blue jacket who guided me over the last few kilometres – that support was invaluable and made a real difference for me.
Crossing the finish line and being greeted by the wonderful group of ladies offering delicious homemade cakes and cheering for each swimmer was such a warm and joyful moment. It’s details like these that make an event truly memorable.
Finally, I’m grateful for your advice to book a taxi in advance – it worked perfectly and made my day much easier.
Lock2Lock has been a very positive and unforgettable experience for me, and I hope to return in the future. I bring with me a part of your river who accompanied me on my journey.
Warm regards,
Nacho Díaz-Crespo
