It has been more than five years since we first invited Sun and Moon Theatre Company to perform and one of our events and in that time they have earned a loyal local following for their thoughtfully and imaginatively handled first folio interpretations. This year we are happy to tell you about not a Boxed Up Event but one in support of our chosen charity at Great Barn Festival, The Pump House Project. Step through the gates of the walled garden at Buscot Park, place you blanket on the ground, treat yourself to a little fizz and enjoy Romeo and Juliet. Staged in 1930s film land the feud is between two rival studios. A perfect introduction to the plays or a brilliant performance for the seasoned theatre goer in the most spectacular of locations.

Every good event planner know that, when children are at an event, a happy child equals a happy grownup!
At this outdoor garden 50th birthday party we organised, the children had an entertainer, games and even their own separate chill out tent. Everyone was happy!
If you have an event coming up, we would love to help.
Thanks to Partastic for the awesome tent. Partastic

We love putting together The Great Barn Festival each year. In part that is down to the friends we make along the way and the memories we create for so many visitors. In 2021, none more so than the moving and uplifting concert from our invited guests as part of the Stonevale Concert Series. Returning by popular demand to rather unexpectedly fill the rustic barn with some of the most elegant of classics, Sebastian Mueller and Lynette Stulting will again grace our dirt floor stage and The Piano Gallery will repeat the dauting task of getting a beautiful full size grand piano into the cathedral like ancient monument (and back out) as if by magic. One not to miss and with limited tickets available for this intimate performance we advise booking early and expect it to sell out well in advance.

With our 2021 audience clamouring for an encore we just had to invite Sebastian Mueller and Lynette Stulting back, as part of the Stonevale Concert Series, to the Great Barn. Such a beautiful way to spend a Sunday morning and such an exquisite setting for Beethoven's Spring Sonata and a host of uplifting classics. Once again The Piano Gallery will be helping us bring a beautiful grand piano to our earth floor stage. We advise booking early for this exceptional and intimate recital.

We are so excited to tell you about the first Tiny ideas Festival in Oxford later this year. Brilliant, creative and just the right amount of bonkers the festival will encourage our youngest children’s boundless curiosity as they experience some of the city’s finest cultural venues and a programme of the arts curated especially for their curious minds. Don’t delay signing up for the launch event in February, spaces are limited, and be part of something extraordinary.

So, July 19th has a massive impact on the Events industry as a whole with the removal of restrictions and social distancing. However, everyone at The Great Barn Festival takes your health and comfort very seriously. We want our Festival to be a relaxed and safe space for all our guests and so, whilst still following any Government guidance, we will continue to implement a number of health measures to ensure a fantastic, yet safe, weekend for everyone.

We will have a team of cleaners on-site keeping everything from the tables and chairs to the toilets spotless. We are limiting the number of tickets for each performance and the site in general to ensure everyone has a comfortable amount of space. We will still have hand sanitizer about the site and will be encouraging people to use it. We are lucky that the Barn is huge and due to its age, very ventilated! A lot of the Festival is outdoors. Should Covid restrictions mean the Festival has to cancel, then you will be entitled to a full refund. This is just a handful of the measures we are working on behind the scenes to make this event a success.

We hope this helps you feel confident about attending our event. We know that people are still nervous about gatherings, so if there is anything we can do to further reassure you, then please email [email protected] and we will happily talk through everything with you.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support. It’s been a tough year, but we are so excited to have something to look forward to at last. See you there!

We had hoped to say ‘Hello Old Friends’ with the great news that our events are starting to roll out for later in 2021 but for now that will have to wait. We have been HACKED! If you receive an email from Boxed Up Events sent recently or in the next couple of days please delete. We are in the process of deep cleaning all our tech and we will reach out again to let you know when it is safe and to tell you about all the great things we have planned for later in the year. We have missed you.
