Back home from my maiden voyage with my apron on to 68 degrees North and first time inside the Arctic circle, which was quite a way for this southerner! is a boutique luxury hotel in the village of Sørvågen and offers an incredible culinary experience 5 times a year for a select number of guests to enjoy life on the Edge of the World.

They not only experience exquisite food and drink by leading chefs and bartenders, they have the opportunity to participate in guided mountain walks, trips out to the tip of Lofoten and into the Maelstrom, foraging trips and workshops with creative collaborators.

I was honoured to be asked to host a series of lino print workshops for the guests over the duration of their stay at Holmen and was delighted to be able to make this voyage in the company of the seasoned traveller to Holmen who was hosting a series of blacksmithing workshops.

The whole experience has been magical, I have embraced so much over the past 2 weeks, collaborating with the most amazing team and the incredible team running the kitchen, restaurant and hotel. I have enjoyed teaching and chatting to so many wonderful guests in my workshops, capturing the stunning beauty of Lofoten and I ate like a true Lord every day.

I would like to thank ingunn_rasmussen and for their hospitality, and the team for welcoming me and to Alex for being my wingman.

The only thing I didn't do was a dip in the Arctic which is fine with me! Maybe next time....

Here are a few camera phone images but rest assured there will be plenty more to come.

More over on my account in the coming weeks....

Thank you, thank you, thank you to those that have supported me with the sales of this print in memory of Nigel Cullen, proprietor and barista . Together we have raised over £900 for who did everything they could to save Nigel's life after he was involved in a road traffic accident in May.

All prints are numbers 1 for Nigel, 2 for Nigel etc. I have 10 left in my shop which will take us well over £1000 which was my initial target. The prints are £20 with £15 going towards to Cornwall Air Ambulance.

I will be making the payment to the Cornwall Air Ambulance next month once the funds clear into my account from my website provider.

Thank you.

A detail of the Kennixton Farmhouse, St Fagans, Wales.

The building would have been originally painted with Oxblood and Lime to fend off evil spirits.

The Rogers family were tenants when the building was built in 1610. Around 200 years later the current generation of the family were able to purchase the property.

Wonderful private garden planted out by the team that I photographed last year for the home owners. Such a wonderful drive into this garden through this small woodland area.

Check out the bug house top left in the image created by the team too. If I come back as a solitary bee I'd like to live here please. 🐝.

Engaging content is so important on I
social media now whether that's stills or reels and this recent reel proves just that.

Many of you will know I have an alter ego as a printmaker under the name on Instagram.

Earlier this year I commissioned to film some more reels of me working in the studio. During the course of the day Emma filmed enough for 2 reels and the first one I posted 4 weeks ago.

Little did we know that this little reel of me carving and printing a Turbot fish and our little rescue cat watching me would do so well on the 'gram'.

The reel is now approaching half a million views and attracted around 12,000 new followers to my Instagram account. We all know it doesn't always work like that and sometimes the best content can attract very little interest.

Well this little reel just kept going and (bad pun coming up) reeling new followers in.

Please do take a look at Emma's account if you are looking for creative reels for your feed and check out the old fella too.

I hope you enjoy the reel.

Thank you

Working on some past images I took today and found some of these of the lovely Sue who lives and works at Sandy Lane. Sue is always a pleasure to talk to and she is so passionate about the environment around us and her animals. I always loved heading to the pig stys to feed the pigs with Sue and a bucket of farm scraps to see the tiny piglets.

I enjoy photographing the hands of those that work the land, craftspeople, makers and artists. They always have a story to tell.

When I spotted this image of Sue's hands taken a few years ago now, I felt it was a strong image of a lady's hands and sum up her hard working nature and determination for a better future for those around the world.

Thank you Sue
