Hello! ✨ We’ve had an influx of new followers and it’s been so lovely to see our growth since the start of the year, so I wanted to say a big hello and thank you 🫶🏼🤍🌸

My name is Sophie and I am the founder of Sophie flowers, a floristry business designing with flowers for weddings and events. We are based in Cornwall but like to travel wherever the flowers take us! 🕊️

We love to create romantic, garden-inspired and playful floral designs, embracing our signature style for every event 🏹

This business started as a dream, one I would think about often. I can’t believe this is now the reality working alongside lots of lovely suppliers in the industry, wedding planners, caterers, stylists and lots more! 🤍

When I’m not flowering, you can find me enjoying our little corner of Cornwall, exploring quaint villages, vineyards and long coastal walks with my partner, Alex 🌿

Thank you so much for following along on this wild and flowery journey. I’d love for you to say hello in the comments, how did you find us and what more would you like to see from Sophie flowers? 🫶🏼

It looks to be a day full of sunshine here in Cornwall, perfect for this dress 🌸🤍✨

Romantic, garden inspired table designs have our hearts 🏹

A really lovely design for a sweetheart table at your wedding, just the two of you, nestled within the flowers. From Cornwall to Devon this time, we collaborated with interior designer, to transform this table with flowers and some extra touches to bring it all together.

We enjoy travelling wherever the flowers take us to transform spaces with our romantic, playful style and we can’t wait to share more with you! 🧚✨

It’s been a fun month visiting wedding venues here in Cornwall. Getting excited about creating floral magic in some really amazing locations, from vineyards to lakes, olive groves to private beaches, forts and estates.

Can’t wait to transform these spaces with garden-inspired, romantic and seasonal flowers 🌸🌿

Can you spot any locations? ✨

Peonies stealing the show again 💫

So much love for the coral charm and claire de lune, paired with lots of other lovely ingredients: tanecetum daisies, butterfly ranuncs, apricot snaps and home grown lemon balm which smells incredible 🍋

A spring explosion / Happy Mayday 🌸

Celebrating the beginning of May by sharing more snaps of this wonderful flower installation with you.

Apple blossom, ivy and colourful springtime blooms burst from wicker baskets, climbed up and intertwined around the arbour. This was a dream to create, a real springtime treat, and the sun shone all day providing the most gorgeous light.

This installation was also repurposed at the reception, which I’m excited to show you next!

Hope you have a lovely (sunny 🤞🏼) day xx

A love letter to nature on Earth Day 🍃

Thanks to the wonder that is mother nature we are able to transform spaces and create beautiful and captivating floral designs for our couples. Our brand is completely motivated by nature, guided by her seasons, and inspired by the changing landscape of the English countryside.

Here are some ways we consider the planet in our business:

💚 Absolutely no nasty floral foam, ever.

💚 We restrict single use plastic and use components that we can reuse time and time again. For bigger installations this can be chicken wire, moss, reusable cable ties and bespoke made structures. We also repurpose packaging and vessels to secure arrangements.

💚 We source local flowers always. Our relationships with our flower growers is so wonderful and we constantly feel empowered by them. This also encourages us to explore creativity with a variety of different flowers each season.

Here are some ways that are still in the works to achieve a greener business:

✨ We are working with some amazing local charities to give back to our planet, a proportion of profits will soon be donated to them and we are so excited to incorporate this into our business model.

✨ This is our first year of growing our very own flowers, this is an extra special touch I wish to share with couples and allow you to further immerse in and connect with nature.

We a very excited for a green future at Sophie Flowers and hope you are too! 🫶🏼

Pears & pearls (behind the scenes) ✨

I had the pleasure of flowering recently. Seasonal, Cornish grown blooms accompanied effortless styling.

A beautiful summer’s day at Birmingham botanical gardens for H + J 🌿

This was my last wedding in the Midlands before settling in Cornwall and what a lovely one it was. Now based in Cornwall, the majority of wedding venues we are flowering are here by the coast, but we dare to dream big when it comes to flowers and love to travel with them ✨

Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead 🤍 (with a little less rain)

Locally grown ingredients and foraged goodness, with some of my very own double tulips. These went out to a lovely friend and their business. Any guesses from the last pic? 🤭💓

Obsessed with the wiggly stems, I feel it brings so much character to the flowers and is one of the many wonderful reasons why using local, homegrown flowers is always the better option.

Happy March 🐇

It’s the season of the hellebores, tulips and flowering blackthorn. Designing with the leftovers and some garden pickings in this ceramic shell ✨

I am really enjoying getting creative with vessel choices as well as the flowers this time. Excited to be working with some really wonderful local suppliers this year, transforming unique bowls and vases for your special day.

Hope you’re all having a lovely spring week 🍃

Anyone that knows me will know if I’m not styling with flowers, I’m styling my favourite vintage pieces and swooning over dresses ❤️❤️

We’re back in London next week but this time with flowers, flowering an incredible space in the city. Can’t wait to bring you along with me 🌟

One from the archives ✨

I remember this day so vividly, it was a glorious Easter Sunday morning back in my hometown. The day before, I had hosted a bridesmaid bouquet making workshop and it was so fun to enjoy the excitement with Robyn and her bridesmaids. Blue skies and the most beautiful, scented, spring flowers on Robyn and Jake’s wedding day 2 years ago!

I am now very much in wedding prep mode for our upcoming season. Talking with our wonderful suppliers and putting in the orders. New vessels and vases are slowly starting to arrive, and we have lots of lovely additions to our process and services. So looking forward to taking you along with me, flowering some big dream venues in Cornwall and beyond ✨🏹💗

The Spring Day Workshop ✨🌸

I’m so delighted to announce my spring day workshop is now scheduled and you can book your space! The day will be filled with seasonal flowers for you to create bouquets and table arrangements with, whilst we take inspiration from the Cornish landscape and the season we are in and chat all things flowers. Ceramic vessels bursting with blooms and bouquets trailing with silk ribbons, both which you can then take home along with some other lovely things.

A breakfast of local pastries and coffee, and a delicious lunch inspired by the season with a glass of local wine will be served during the day, all at the wonderful Trevear Farm in Wadebridge.

Enjoy looking out at the rolling hills of North Cornwall and meet the friendly animals that reside on the farm during the spring day.

I’m really looking forward to seeing some of you there. Spaces are limited (this is an intimate class) so please get in touch if you would like to join. You can book via the link in my bio and you can find more info about the order of the day and FAQs there.

This is going to be a true celebration of Spring! I’m so looking forward to seeing you 🌿🌷

Happy March 🌼 Spring is in the air (kind of!)

Walks down to the beach to watch the sunset are a little later, the early morning bird song is a little clearer, and everything feels a little lighter.

So much to look forward to 💛 what’s your favourite thing about Spring?

Brightening up these days and making us remember spring isn’t too far away. Really embracing my admiration for these ever growing stems and so I’ve booked onto a tulip talk next month 🤭

Workshops with some lovely guests. Did you know we run seasonal workshops throughout the year?

There’s lots going on behind the scenes. Working seasonally normally means that this is a quieter time and whilst in terms of flowers it technically is, there’s a lot of preparation happening for a busy year ahead!

There will be lots of fun things to share with you very soon. In the meantime, I just found these beautiful photos from last Summer choosing seasonal blooms at one of our workshops. 2024 dates coming soon!

What would you like to learn in an upcoming workshop? ✨ please share your thoughts ✨

February so far (some of my favourite moments) 💞

What a shift from January! We’re coming towards to the final few weeks of mid-winter and I think it’s safe to say that signs of spring are very much present in the south-west. The earth feels like it truly has awoken ✨🍃
