Each year I usually put some of my Mum’s favourites in the boxes but would like to know which of our bakes you would like to see featured? Are you chocolate all the way with a brownie or Ferraro Rocher Muffin? Fruity for Lemon Cake or posset? Nutty (like my Mother) with Bakewell or Pistachio Cannoli?

According to my diary (and sensible logical people) I’m overstretched and out numbered atm.
4 children means that in addition to the usual chaos, the next few weeks are packed with school concerts, drama performances and Christmas parties (for them obviously, definitely not me ☹️), and it means there is not room to make even an extra cookie and something, other than my sanity, has to give. I will be taking the next few weeks off to sort last minute costumes, chauffeur the kids about, bake 3 million brownies for them to take to their various social gatherings and try to make sure there are pressies under the tree just incase Santa also has a never ending to do list.

Kitchen back open for Xmas pud collections on the 23rd & 24th. If you haven’t ordered yet please do so soon. x

First Sticky Toffee Meringue Roulade I’ve made for a little while, probably why it’s a bit wonky. This will be on the December special puds & bakes menu along with other favourites like our Brownies, Tiramisu & Cinnamon Buns. I’m refusing to use the ‘C’ word yet but diary will be open soon for Festive Fayre so let me know if you’d like a heads up for the C menu (which I promise to do soon).

Poor (11 year) old Aoife.The old proverb about Cobblers Children definitely exists. Soup for her Birthday Tea (because that is what I made today), Daddy picked up profiteroles on the way home because I hadn’t made a cake and no candles specially purchased for the occasion so we improvised. We are not entirely inept parents and she did get lovely presents including a night away with Moi and restaurant of her choice for a birthday dinner, still, good job she takes after her Mother and is low maintenance! 🙈😬 ❤️

It’s the final Summer Holiday countdown… Need to spend some family time and undertake responsible parental duties such as 4 x uniforms, new school shoes and coats etc. Will definitely need to get back to work once they’ve returned to school though as funds will be significantly diminished 🙈.

A thank you box of cookies just dropped off, always grateful when I manage to get an appointment squeezed in for one of the kids. Also only had to take two of the tribe with me so half of the obligatory Summer hols bickering endured - double bonus! Considering making mixed boxes available on a Cookie Club day each week.
