The Applegarth ladies travelled to the beautiful Loweswater valley today for a surprise 60th birthday lunch. Salmon, sticky sausage, cold meat with hot new potatoes and salads were provided followed by banoffie tarts, fruit berry roulade and raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake.

Apart from our host family, it was lovely to see so many faces who have used our services before and for making us feel so welcome.

What a busy week/weekend it’s been for the Applegarth team ….. lots of lovely sunshine has made delivering our outside catering services much easier!

Saturday the team travelled to Ghyll Barn to provide wedding catering for one of our very own team members - Chloe said ‘I do’ with Mark. Guests were provided with hot canapés during welcome drinks followed by the grooms home reared highland beef with trimmings. Dessert selection was chocolate fudge torte, berry roulade and white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake, rounding off the meal with a cheeseboard and coffee.
Evening guests were provided with hot beef and pork rolls, coleslaw and chips.
A great day from start to finish, we wish the new Mr and Mrs Fisher all the very best for the future 🍏💞🍏

Sunday the team travelled to Plumpton for an 80th birthday celebration, another glorious day. Guests were provided with canapés, salmon, cold meat and salads with hot potatoes and an assiette of desserts.

Today we finish on a more somber note with bereavement refreshments at Westmorland County Show-ground.
A new venue for the team but an ideal location just off the M6 motorway and within a short distance of Beatham Crematorium.

Thank you to my amazing team, you have worked extremely hard during the run upto the weekend with preparations and for carrying out the none stop service we have provided over the past 3 days. All our families have been very complimentary about our food, service and attention to detail and for that we are very grateful.

The team travelled to Skipton today for our belated Christmas Party. Fantastic meal at Le Bistro. Enormous Yorkshire Puds - think we might need to up our game !

Funeral notice for the late Dave Trickett, of Gamblesby.

TRICKETT. Peacefully at Eden Valley Hospice on Monday 20th January, David John (Dave) of Gamblesby, Penrith, aged 71 years. Dearly loved husband of Janet, much loved dad of Helen and Sarah, devoted grandad of Joseph, Thomas, Isaac and Amelia. Funeral Service at Eden Valley Crematorium on Thursday 6th February at 11.00am. Busy day for the team today, bereavement refreshments for two families, a small delivered tea to Greystoke and a larger gathering at the well presented Cliburn Village Hall, a short distance from the Eden Valley Crematorium.
Thank you to my team who made everything run like clockwork and to the lovely feedback and compliments we received on our food and service - it’s very much appreciated.

It a ‘wrap’ for team Applegarth for 2024.

Yesterday we provided catering for a local company for their Christmas Party at Penrith Rugby Club. A repeat client, a great bunch who are very appreciative of what we provide. 3 course Christmas lunch.

Today, a finger buffet for a staff party on Gilwilly for a group whose caterer had cancelled - pleased to come to the rescue.

The team are looking forward to some downtime and wishing all our customers a very merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.

The team had another little find this weekend at the beautifully renovated parish hall in Hunsonby.

We had the pleasure of providing a three course meal for a young lady’s 21st birthday consisting of an anti-pasti sharing plattter, followed by a choice of beef olives or salmon fillet with a chile and hollandaise sauce and for dessert, an Applegarth favourite, sticky toffee pudding or vanilla cheesecake with berry compote.

Sadly no photographs of the beautifully decorated candlelit hall and tables only a couple of snapshots of starter and dessert but I do have a daytime picture of the hall on a previous visit.

Thank you to my team last night who worked extremely hard to carry out the service we did, you are truly appreciated.

These lovely little renovated village halls are really very pretty and make exceptional party venue’s for all occasions.

Today the team travelled to the picturesque village of Bassenthwaite, to provide bereavement refreshments for a local family. A new venue for Applegarth Foods but a lovely building for this local community.
Thank you to F & W Green Funeral Directors LTD and my team for providing today’s service, and Bassenthwaite Parish, we hope to return to this lovely setting in the very near future. 🍏

We had a request this week to provide a breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea box suitable for a journey on the British Pullman. I hope my customer and their companions enjoyed their refreshments while they travelled in style around the beautiful Scottish countryside.
Everyday is different, and it’s what I love about being a bespoke company.

A stunning view across to Criffel was the setting for Ben and Emma’s wedding and despite a damp start the sunshine eventually appeared.
Canapés of honey sausages, sticky chicken, mediterranean tartlets, crostini with sun dried tomato and satay chicken were offered. Guests were served starters, mains, an assiette of desserts followed by a cheeseboard and coffee. An evening finger food buffet finished the days celebrations.
Thank you to my team yesterday who worked extremely hard, particularly given some of the challenges we faced but we did it as a team 🙏.

Kirkby Thore, in the Eden Valley was the destination for the Applegarth team last night celebrating a Ruby Wedding anniversary. The day certainly improved after a very wet morning 💦 and guests managed to enjoy a rare outdoor garden party.
Cold meat, salmon, salads a selection of delicious desserts were available for guests 😋.

The team have covered some miles this week, travelling to Dalston at the start of the week for a two day corporate event, Borrowdale, Keswick for a 90th Birthday and Crosby Ravensworth for a funeral tea on Thursday.

Today the team travelled a short distance to a lovely family get together following the marriage yesterday of Lee and Caitlin.

Guests were provided with a hot and cold finger buffet, cheeseboard and refreshing cut fruit platter.

What a busy week…..3 funerals in our local village halls, helping our local communities and multiple corporate lunches in the mix delivered to various locations in Penrith.

Special thanks to my dedicated team of helpers, who have worked extremely hard this week covering staff shortages and have kept up with the demand for cake and sandwiches.

Complements to our new meat supplier N J Dowding Ltd, Appleby. The Sausage Rolls have gone down really well, with some lovely feedback.
