A wonderful evening at Brewery arts centre. A celebration of amazing talent- 3 short films set in Cumbria by people from Cumbria (plus a couple of bonus music videos.) well done to all involved, yo skills, dedication and hard work absolutely shone.

Friday 12th July. Hand tied design on a frame get crafting to create a frame then earn how to add florals to create an exquisite design
Sunday 14th July hand-tied bouquet - learn the tricks and technics of spiralling stems to achieve a glorious bouquet (a must for any one considering floristry, or to brush up your technic)

Wow - this is just one of the gorgeous meadow boxes created this morning in our ‘Creative florals’ group. If you missed the class but want to have a go I’ll be doing it all again tomorrow morning in The Flower Studio. 10 am - 12 noon £10 / person, then pay for any materials that you use. The Flower Studio will be open this week - Brides I will be rescheduling catch ups (Thank you so much for your patience). This week I will have a wonderful range of colourful flowers to create your bouquets - hopefully the weather will get the message and brighten up too!!! I may need to work partly from home this week but please do ring as I’m only 4 minutes away from the Studio. Whilst I’m not in the shop (thank you for all the kind get well wishes) Just spending a little time looking at past work - this was one of my favourite pieces from last year. I loved the technical challenge it posed! Starting from tractor photos to make into scaled sketches then to building up a relief frame and working out how to represent the open engine and get everything layered correctly was a test! - I think the wheels are my favourite part! Design was created using a design board and flower colour from with flowers from our ever wonderful local wholesaler

Monthly creative floral classes: MAY: create a table centre on a circle Wednesday 15th May and Thursday 16th May. June: Create a meadow box Wednesday 19th June and Thursday 20th June. I’m also putting together a schedule of new classes, so let me know if there’s anything you’d like (I’ve already had a few requests for the wonderful bouquet class again, so I think that’ll be in there!) - see you in the studio!!!

Next week it’s the return of our monthly ‘creative class’ - join me in The Flower Studio, Penrith to create your very own stunning table centre on a ring - perfect for outdoor parties as you can pop your own hurricane vase or lantern in the middle. Wednesday class now full (waiting list), spaces on Thursday’s class. Drop me a dm for more details - creative classes are open to all levels - with ‘light touch’ teaching / guidance - the idea is to be creative and come together with other floral loving folk!!!

Bouquets - this is proving really popular already. Recently I have found a presentation box for your beautiful flowers that is fully reusable and recyclable (how amazing is that!?) is a great alternative to single use cellophane. You can still buy your bouquet ‘bare stemmed’ which is tied, wrapped and ready to pop into a vase but if you know someone may not have a vase or to just want to know it’s all sorted then choose the floral box option in The add on section of the website

A lovely colourful wedding

Tomorrow (Saturday 20th April) I will be popping in and out of the Studio - children are singing at the Marmalade festival at Dalemain, thought I’d share earworm of the week with you!!! If you’ve never been it’s a wonderful, unique day. If you need a delivery please let me know (email or text would be best as phone reception is limited!) If the weather is dry and calm I’ll be popping the floral arrangement outside too.

On Saturday the Marmalade festival will be held at , it’s a wonderful annual celebration complete with ‘the Marmalade song’ sung by the children from the local school. Here’s a design to show support for the festival and all things Marmalade!!!

The Wednesday group for the Monthly creative floral class blew me away today!! Spiralling stems is not easy, but they rocked it!!! If you missed it there’s still space on tomorrows class only £10 to attend then either bring in resources or choose from the beautiful fresh blooms in the studio (class discount applies)

This week is the monthly creative floral workshops - there’s still spaces on Thursday’s class. (18th April) I’ll be showing you how to create a bouquet by spiralling your stems (don’t worry if you’re left handed, I can teach both!!! ) you’re welcome to bring in you’re own materials but I am buying in stems that will be suitable too. If you’re on the emailing list I’ll send something out this morning (classes are 10am - 12noon £10 per person excluding materials. See you in the studio!!!

Friday (and most of last week) was filled with the most wonderful range of colours. I’m going to start with this design a garland that hung from one of beautiful wooden supports in Eden Barn. This design was recreated (as a mirror image) and hung on a support the other side of the buffet table - see second image.

God morning. We are OPEN today (Saturday 30th March) until 2pm. I have plants and an assortment of bunched flowers / spring posies all ready to go - why not pop in on your way to visit friends or relatives this weekend? - Easy to find (and get parked!!!) Wow, a colourful array has landed this morning! Plants: Cyclamen and primula - have you spotted brightly coloured fiesta pot featured yesterday! (Narcissi Tete a Tete arriving tomorrow) - for those of you that like to do things at home for Easter there are blown quail eggs and bunches of p***y Wilow I also have a range of sundries available - pot tape/ carbon bladed scissor / decorative wires - I’ll share our fresh flower collection tomorrow there’s some gorgeous bright colours coming up!

Monthly creative class this week - Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday class is fully booked but there are still some spaces on Thursday. If you have already booked I have sent out an email today. A bath full of Bulbs!!! - little redesign on the bath tubs - they are now filled with bulbs that will bloom with beautiful blue muscari (£29.50), Kalanchoe plants in a presentation box £5 there’s also a range of vases/ planters / silk flowers and beautiful taper candles (by Candleflair). Pop in the shop and see what you can find for Mother’s Day - shop is opposite Penrith Rugby Club at Carleton Hall Farm - ample free parking on the roadside or in the farm yard . (No pesky traffic wardens to worry about!!!)
