Feeling very reflective as today marks 9 years since I decided to take a leap and turn my hobby into a full time business and step into the wonderful world of Weddings.
Fairytale Wedding Stationery is 9 years old today, and I have had the pleasure over that time of working with some lovely couples and their families who have put their trust in me to make their entire wedding stationery.
So many special moments and memories including bringing my sparkly wedding world and a charity that is so close to my heart together working on a fabulous collaborative glittering gala evening.
The Cornish wedding world is a very talented group of individuals who truly do make individuals dreams come true no matter what and it's been so wonderful to work alongside such lovely people.
In that 9 years there has been some milestones such as the building of my beautiful work office studio in 2019 and some very special moments:-

The last two and a half years for myself and the wedding industry has been some heartbreaking times and some extremely stormy seas and at many times it has felt that there has been no life raft there for you.
Of course until last year on my FWS journey I had my wonderful fur baby PA Charlie by my side and he was ingrained into everything that my business was.
I have to admit that since Charlie's sudden and tragic passing in the Summer of 2021, life at FWS has seemed very different without him as well as lots of personal life challenges and yes I have lost my sparkle hence why I have been very quiet on social media.
However it seemed a good time to reflect on 9 years and lots of special moments and memories which I feel very blessed to have had.

“Sneak Peak”

Everything at FWS is designed just for you.....
That involves starting the design from scratch,chatting through ideas; mood boards/Pinterest boards and scrapbooks summing up what your dream stationery is to be for your special event.
That also involves swatches, lots of swatches...
whether that is for your base card for your invitation, do you want to add a touch of sparkle with some sumptuous glitter card and paper? Do you want texture?
I love opening the swatch cards to the satin ribbons, so many colours to match or compliment your chosen colours of the day.
What type of embellishment?
Diamantè, pearl, a dior ribbon, flowers, even a wax personalised seal?
The list is endless, and it is all top secret between me and the couple until the day your guests get to open a beautiful envelope revealing the invitation.

"Favourite"

Day Five of asking the prompt what is a favourite within our businesses. Is there a favourite make? favourite design? Is there a favourite for couples?
💌
This is such a hard question as for me my favourite is so many, as its the fact that everything in unique and bespoke and tailor made to the couple in question.
This means that each invitation has its own story.
It could be based on the colour scheme for the day, the coastal venue destination.
Over the years I have had the pleasure to work on so many invitations and each of them has a place in my heart for very different reasons.
❤️ I love a lasercut style as it is always so elegant no matter what the colour scheme.
❤️ I love a pocketfold invitation for the way it encases all that information
❤️Rustic styles always look so beautiful
❤️Wallet styles can be anything you wish them to be.

So my list is endless, lots of favourites all with their own story to tell, and I cannot wait to make more of your stories.

Day Three of and it’s all about how you do your planning…..

I have to confess and put my hand up ✋🏻and say that my names Jayne and I am a complete stationery addict.
As much as I love technology and rely on my phone, laptop, iMac for simply everything that I do always prefer and go back to the paper version for my diary, notes and all things planning.
I like to be organised and get the dates in the diary to know how I need to plan.

I love pretty notebooks and pads, turning the pages of my diary, making my to do lists and highlighting with pretty pastel highlighters.
I never have just the one year diary open as weddings are sometimes planned up to two or even three years in advance.

No matter what planning is the key here at FWS, and I never need an excuse to get some pretty stationery to help me.

Day Two of and todays prompt is asking all about the beliefs and values of our small businesses.

So what are the beliefs and values here at Fairytale Wedding Stationery…..

For me simply it is the tag line which sums up our brand
“putting the sparkle into your special day”
Sparkle doesn’t have to be physical; your event stationery does not have to be so glittery you can see it from outer space.
The sparkle in your special day is the value that all the stationery is unique, handmade and it is always about YOU.
It is your event; your day and you must have your dreams come true.
It is about setting the tone for your special day, many people keep their invitations from any event as memory keepsakes so make that memories special and memories that last forever.

Every day for the month of March there is a new challenge with prompts for me to tell you about different aspects of my business. I know I am over here on Facebook but Ive been absent for so long I thought it was good to show my face.

Day One:- “You and Your Work”

Hello I’m Jayne and I create wedding and event stationery. ( I am on the left of the photo and my Mum on the right)

I have always had an interest and love of all things craft since a little girl, a love that I have shared with my Mum and my Godmother. I was taught how to cut out images on Christmas and birthday cards by my Nan.

The scissors she gave me, I still use for most of my work,which are so very special.

I could always be found making cards for family and close friends to celebrate and commemorate special celebrations and life milestones.

But it was in October 2013, I decided that I wanted to make my hobby and passion my work.

I love all things sparkly and girly, and I know a lot of people dream of having a fairytale happily ever after ending, so Fairytale Wedding Stationery was born.

All my work is unique and handcrafted just by me, no mass production lines, just lovingly handcrafted and bespoke for your special event.
I have had the true privilege of having spent nine years in the Cornish Wedding Industry and to have been involved in such wonderful events and special days.

In that time I am very proud that FWS has been nominated in regional wedding awards and found myself the Winner in the Simply Wedding Awards in 2016 and 2021 as well as a Finalist in all consecutive years and in 2019 was honoured to be a Finalist in the South West Wedding Awards.

I am a proud Cornish maid, born and bred and am blessed to live in one of the most beautiful parts of West Cornwall, close to the land that is “Poldark country.”

Hello March, always feel so glad and thankful to see the signs of spring.
I have been absent for so long from social media, with the loss of my beautiful boy & PA; Charlie, FWS felt a very different place and one I struggled with as well as horrifying world events where it never seemed the right time to post about the sparkly world of FWS.
I’m looking forward later today to begin the challenge for the month of March and hopefully step back into the world of sparkle.

Feeling very reflective as 8 years ago I decided to take the leap of turning my pure hobby into a full time business, and as they say the rest is history.....
Fairytale Wedding Stationery is 8 years old today, and what a 8 years it has been but I have to say that the last 18 months to two years has been the most challenging as the hardest times happened in a world that changed forever.
Over those 8 years I have had the pleasure of working with some of the loveliest couples and their families who have trusted me to make their entire wedding stationery.
Thank you to you all for entrusting me with such a special role in your magical day.
In the 8 years I have had the true privilege to work alongside wonderful Cornish wedding suppliers and from that I feel so blessed to have made the most fabulous friends.
In 2018 I had the fantastic opportunity to bring my sparkly wedding world and the charity that is so close to my heart- Cornwall Blood Bikes together and work in collaboration on a fabulous project which culminated in a spectacular gala evening and the unveiling of a special blood bike that has gone onto achieve magnificent things during this pandemic.

A lot has happened in that 8 years, but none of it would have happened if I did not have my wonderful family and close friends (you know who you are) that have always been behind me all the way, and never ever stopped believing in me, even when there are a lot of times when I stop believing in myself.
The friends that offer to help cut ribbons, and fold cards when the workload is huge, and of course the very dear friends who came to my aid when my technology goes into meltdown at the 11th hour, and who were their by my side as I achieved the surprise milestone of receiving Simply Weddings Best Stationer Award 2016. A moment that I will always treasure in my heart forever.
In 2019 my dream design studio was built, and I had a small opportunity to welcome couples before our worlds changed forever.
Its been the toughest of times for myself, the wedding and events industry; watching my lovely couples postpone date after date, but they have finally said "I Do" showing us that love always wins in the end!
I sincerely hope that it will continue to do so.
But I could not have done any of it without my PA Charlie by my side and this year my world collapsed as he left my side and gained his wings forever, I miss him immensely and to be in the studio without him beside me still feels so strange.
But everyone tells me that he will continue to walk by my side forever.
So here I am 8 years on, and I cannot thank you all enough for allowing that to happen.

Welcome to October as we prepare to embrace the Autumn as our weather starts to change.
It's the time of leaves crunching under our feet, luxurious hot chocolates, candles, and cosy nights and of course lots of wedding and event planning as we look forward to 2022.

It is also the month of our 8th birthday!
It has been a challenging time for us and all my wedding industry colleagues but I have had the pleasure these last few months to be creating some wonderful stationery for special couples.
I know I have been very quiet over the past few months as life isn't quite the same without my PA by my side, but I cannot wait to share with you just some of the designs and what I have been up to.

Fairytale Wedding Stationery was created in 2013 but in March 2014 I was joined by a very special little fella.
That little man I am about to pay tribute to had so many dear friends in his life and was beside me every step of the way as my PA for my FWS journey.
There are no words to describe the pain I’m feeling right now and as I sit to write this, I still cannot believe this is actually real.
On Thursday 1st July as the sun set on a beautiful still evening on my Mum’s birthday, my gorgeous most precious little man Charlie passed away suddenly in my arms, and I held his paw for the final time.

They say wishes do come true, and for me my wish was to always have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel by my side.
In 2014 my wish came true, when this gorgeous fur bundle leapt into my arms for the first time asking me to be his Mum and he came to his forever home.
Charlie’s breeder Mark turned to my dad and said: - “She has a good one there, one with the biggest most gentle heart filled with so much love, but the most sensitive of personalities”
Charlie never wanted to miss a thing and never wanted to be very far away from me from the age of a 10 week old puppy.
He discovered that when I worked there is was much paper and ribbon around which he found great fun to play with!
So he discovered that he could make himself really useful in this business and promoted himself to be my Personal Assistant!

So wherever I was, Charlie would be beside me.
He has met all the wonderful couples that I have had the opportunity to work with over the years, quite often insisting on cuddles so that he can help them choose and give his advice as to what looked best.
He has helped create the stationery, was involved in the design and creation of the FWS website with his own caricature, pose for photographs when the stationery has been all boxed up for delivery, and of course sending his special messages of good luck on their wedding days.

He loved to don his black tie outfit when his Mum was heading off to wedding industry awards as a finalist over the years and no more so when FWS won Best Stationer in 2016.

Charlie was there to oversee the big building project of the FWS studio of the summer of 2019 and has been beside me in his special chair or his bed since we moved in continuing to offer his special brand of support.

Charlie exuded love and made friends wherever he went.
I had such a lovely conversation with David, the vet and he told me that all dogs teach us something about life, and if he could say what Charlie taught us it would be..... to simply be kind.
He shared his kindness with everyone and made the world a brighter place.

My heart is totally broken, and I will miss him more than words can ever say.
Over the last 18 months it has been such a horrific time for the wedding industry and my business included but Charlie believed that love would always find a way and make the world a better place, and what better philosophy could I have asked for in my Wedding PA.
Charlie; you will always be my most handsome precious little man.
The one with the biggest most gentle heart but the most sensitive of personalities, with so much love in your heart for everyone you met.
Your pawprints will be left on my heart forever and to be your Mum for your 7, short but wonderful years was an ultimate privilege.

What better quote to start the week with than this?
Happy Bank Holiday Monday to you all.
You may have noticed that I have been absence for a long time from the FWS social media platforms.
It has been an incredibly challenging and difficult time for the Wedding & Events industry, and with all the devastation & heartache going on in the world it felt inappropriate to post up at times.
I have spent this last 14 months working with my couples, many of whom have seen postponement after postponement, but what I do know is that they still very much want to have their special day, if not more than ever.
Hopefully over the next few weeks I will start to share some of the many photographs of previous stationery over the years that I have had the pleasure of designing & creating, and to share some wonderful wedding and event inspiration.
Sending much love to the industry, and hoping that this roadmap is heading in the right direction for everyone and we can all get back to doing what we do best - making memories!
Anyone that knows me well, will know that I believe in marking milestone moments and making memories that will last a lifetime.
If this last year has taught us anything at all, it should be that life is precious, to treasure those closest to you, and celebrate wherever and however you can.
