Saturday was so lovely - bright sunshine and plenty of opportunity for being outside and enjoying it. We took the opportunity to have a walk around the field and start checking the tents, there are always things that need doing especially after winter and the wind that we have had. We also need to check the fencing for the animals again this year after the excitable Pygmy goats escape artist behaviour last year and the lambs who refused to eat the grass in their pen and instead wanted to get their heads stuck trying to reach grass outside 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 The countdown to opening is on and the bookings are open and coming in so please get in touch to make sure you get the dates that you want. We also take group bookings so you can book more than one tent. For those who have stayed before and are coming again if you want the tent you have had before or if there is another you would like, if you message me directly I can make a note and we will always do our best to sort that where we can - it is on a first request basis so get booked asap 😊 Any information just pop me a message

It’s been a lovely bright day here at Treganhoe. Never gets boring looking over the reservoir. The tents are in their closed down state and look quite different with just the frame in place for the veranda roof. It won’t be long before the roof on each is back in place, the months are racing by and before we know it it will be time to welcome visitors here to Treganhoe again. Why not book your stay now? Use it as a base to go off and explore all that Cornwall has to offer or, like some guests, just relax at your tent let the children enjoy the freedom of running around the field and being entertained by the animals. Although we are not open for visitors at the moment - it is still busy here at Treganhoe. The boys and girls have filled up the sheds - they are all shapes and sizes, ages and colours - some of the smaller ones are about 300kgs where as some of the bigger ones are well over 600kgs!

🌟 Wear your wellies to support farmers! 🌟
Speak to the heads/teachers in your schools/nurseries/colleges, your employers/employees/colleagues.
Can the internet/social media be filled with pictures of people showing their support for farmers on Tuesday just by wearing wellies? The most unexpected places to wear wellies? The biggest group of people wearing wellies together? Great learning opportunity for children too (without the politics) to learn that things don’t just appear on shelves in shops - so much of the food, drink, what they wear and use and services provided that are directly and indirectly from farmers. The amount of jobs that are as a result directly or indirectly through farming is staggering and many will not realise until it’s too late. A day to celebrate farmers and all things farming!

The words of the Prime Minister last year when empathising with British Farmers - only a year later to bring in the most destructive possible budget for generational British Farming in a life time and beyond. For anyone against farming please understand this does not mean the end of farming in totality it seems to end generational family farming - the factory farming version where animals are just a machine and a number will be able continue. But all you buy will be more expensive as it will be less available and/or imported.
Now is the time to get supporting your farmers they are working every day to provide for everyone not just themselves - please take the time to put your name to the NFU petition (link below and in comments) to overturn this intentionally destructive budget - and if you are able attend one of the many gatherings that will take place to raise awareness.

If you haven’t been able to get to us this year why not get your booking in early and of course if you have stayed with us before why not book to come again. Earlier this morning, guests still tucked up in their tents, sun shining and birds chattering. What a lovely morning 😊

Why would you want to go camping in this weather? The likely answer is you wouldn’t!!! But this isn’t camping, this is glamping!! The cosy and romantic feel of the tents with the glow of the fire, the oil lanterns and candles - with the really comfortable beds and each tent with their own flushing loo and warm shower! You could actually make the most of the weather and use it as an excuse to shut yourselves away and relax - what a way to shut off from the world 😊 We still have availability this year and would love to welcome you come rain or shine 🌧️ ☀️
