I’m getting to the end of my wreath making now, just one more workshop to look forward to tomorrow. This one was for my Mum and I loved including this gorgeous dried statice from for a flowery lift. It was a big hit at my workshops too ☺️

Bramble. Our first girl, super smart, incredibly loyal, star of the island cricket match for retrieving every ball lost to the undergrowth and lover of shredding paper (Christmas was a good time for her). Has it even been dahlia season if I haven’t posted a picture of a cafe au lait? These guys have been flowering like crazy since July but are finally coming to the end (not bad for mid November!) Time to put them to bed for the winter, but not before the bumble bees have finished enjoying the last few pollenous centres.

The Echo Wreath. This year the styling of my wreath designs was inspired by the dogs we’ve had, and this one was by far the easiest to create. Echo was our salty sea-dog, second-hand spaniel and so this wreath has a coastal feel with beach grass and pittosporum, finished with dried seed heads and shells from the shores of St.Martin’s. I can almost see her looking wistfully out to sea…

The days seem to be flying past at the moment, but each one involves flowers in some way or another 😊 Monday’s wedding made me feel a little late-summerish, with the early appearance of dahlias and chocolate cosmos in my cutting garden. And then there are the ones that surprise you. I love colour, as does my bride of yesterday but she opted for all neutral shades for her wedding to keep things simple and understated. I sometimes find an all white brief a bit daunting, without the balance of colour to hide behind, but I loved making this bouquet. What a wedding to end my 2021 season on ✨ So much love on St.Martin’s yesterday. And so many thank yous involved in bringing outside in to the Tinklers Hill Barn at the Sevenstones Inn. Firstly to the super trusting and relaxed couple who allowed me to create freely to my hearts content in this beautiful space. Secondly to Emily, Dom and all the team at the Sevenstones who always make me feel so welcome. Thirdly to my wonderful suppliers who helped keep all the content in this room island grown or Cornish. Also to all the islanders who let me in to their beautiful gardens and fields to snip away at interesting foliage and autumnal hydrangea, and who helped me by gathering fence that forms the structure of the arrangements. To my lovely husband for running everything around for me as ever. And finally, (and mostly) to my wonderful children for not only putting up with two days of mummy doing flowers but also being cheerful and helpful. I really do love this space. And the fairy lights.
