Cakes can be decorated to your choosing, left plain white iced for you to decorate or as undecorated if you wish to cover and decorate it yourself.

I hope everyone is keeping safe and not suffered the wrath of Storm Babet, its not been the most gentle of welcomes back from holiday for "The Apprentice" and I, but we're back and ready to bake 🎂

When twins turn 21 they wont necessarily want the same cake even if they do celebrate together. One wanted a zingy lemon cake while the other opted for all things chocolate. To meet both briefs we went for one cake being lemon sponge with raspberry jam and lemon drizzle buttercream topped with pastel yellow meringues and another cake being chocolate sponge with Belgian chocolate buttercream, chocolate drip and so much chocolate on top 😋

Both these cakes are 8" with 4 layers of sponge and give 22 portions each.

Which one would you go for?

Golf themed cakes are popular for men and this one combined a few different loves with the wine and bacon sandwich as well.

This 8" vanilla sponge was sandwiched with homemade raspberry jam and lemon drizzle buttercream.

This classic and bubbly cake helped Alistair and his friends celebrate his 50th birthday.

The bottom tier s a 9" vanilla sponge with homemade raspberry jam and lemon drizzle buttercream. The top tier is a 7" chocolate cake with Belgian chocolate buttercream. Both tiers were then wrapped in white chocolate ganache to help support its travels.

"The Apprentice" and I love a board game but I had never heard of this one before - its called Root and its set in woodland.

The decoration round the sides was inspired by the game board, the pieces on the top represent the game characters and a take on the title to personalise it. On the inside its an 8" chocolate cake with Belgian chocolate buttercream.

I have to admit a poo cake has been on my cake bucket list for some time so this was brilliant fun for me to make.

This 7" cake teamed vanilla sponge with chocolate buttercream and some chocolate flavoured sugarpaste for the poo - how else can poo be cute?💩🎂

"The apprentice" and I loved the "What the Ladybird Heard" book when she was little(r) so I jumped at the chance to make this cake and make my attempt to represent the various characters and my very own glittery wee ladybird.

This is a 9" vanilla cake sandwiched with homemade raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream.

This combination of colour, spheres, artificial flowers and acrylic decorations gives an absolutely stunning effect and is a popular style for christenings and birthdays.

This cake is a tall 7" cake but can work with lots of different heights and sizes.

The brief for this cake was pink, purple and shopping - I think this hits the spot 😄

A 6" vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream was perfect for a small celebration. The shopping bags were made out of rice crispy treats covered with sugarpaste to give a lightweight but effective decoration.

Congratulations to Amy and Gavin.

Clean and classic leave nowhere to hide on the finish for this wedding cake.

A classic vanilla sponge sandwiched with homemade raspberry jam and lemon drizzle buttercream, covered with delicious white chocolate ganache to help it hold up to the heat and then finished with fabulous white sugarpaste to give this flawless finish. Trimmed with the appropriate tartan ribbon and a wee decoration of a mixture of real and artificial flowers to finish it off.

Bright and sunshiny - how about this for some impact? I absolutely love sunflowers and this was a joy to make.

Its a 9inch vanilla sponge sandwiched with yummy raspberry jam (home made with local berries) and lemon drizzle buttercream and travelled all the way to the Isle of Skye.

Its been a busy wee while in the kitchen so I haven't had a chance to post anything up for a while. I'll catch up as soon as I can. To kick that off, here are a mixture of vanilla, lemon and chocolate cupcakes with coordinating buttercreams and some toppers to give the birthday message.

Cupcakes are available in 2s, 4s, 6s, 9s and 12s - why not treat your loved ones - or yourself 😘

These bright and colourful cupcakes set off a big celebration for a regular customer in the height of the summer. To cater for all tastes there were a mixture of chocolate, vanilla and lemon cupcakes with coordinating buttercreams.

Another cake which should have been posted a while ago, this one was designed to coordinate with the birthday girl's dress for the occasion. A lovely summery cake teaming vanilla sponge with lemon drizzle buttercream and covered with a lovely lemon coloured sugarpaste. This cake is a 7" cake which would give 17 standard portions.

Football themed cakes are a popular choice for gents and this classic design with clean stripes and coordinating chocolate drip is a cup winner. Inside is a classic vanilla sponge, made with my homemade vanilla extract, sandwiched with my homemade raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream.

Stuart turned 6 a wee while ago, he knows what he likes and that is Minecraft, chocolate cake and strawberry milkshake buttercream. I have to admit its not a "go-to" combination but it really works!
This is an 8" square cake which gives 32 standard portions.

I've been a bit quiet on here lately mainly due to being exceptionally busy in the kitchen, I've got loads of fantastic cakes to show you starting with this cute little pooch.

The customer specifically requested the message to be on the bone and for authenticity the letters were pressed in.
This cake is an 8" Vanilla cake, made with my homemade vanilla extract, and filled with homemade raspberry jam and lemon drizzle buttercream. The cute Golden Labrador model on top is made from a different kind of sugarpaste and can be kept as a memento.
