Hey guys, I want to talk about an important subject today, Mental health. Have you ever seen someoneβs posts and thought I want they have, or look how happy they are. Social media is not what reality is. Many people on here are living two lives, one on the gram and one behind closed doors. After long consideration I have decided to share my mental health journey with you all to raise awareness. I have been battling with depression and anxiety for the past 4+ months now. I have been seeing a therapist but this journey of recovery has just started. Depression is a such a taboo subject in our Pakistani community. No one wants to talk about it and people are happy to shame you for suffering from it. Mental illness is a very real thing. Many of us suffer in silence for years and years. Mine started with low moods which would last an entire day, an entire day of me being unable to get out of bed, an entire day of crying and not knowing why I am crying, an entire day of feel guilty for everything and anything. Itβs awful to say the least. Other days I am perfectly fine, Iβm happy, content, thankful, blessed but I have 1 or two days in the week where I suffer. There are no definite triggers and these low moods can come out of nowhere. If you are suffering or you feel like harming yourself or just confused please contact 111. Alternatively nhs have a self referral service where you can refer yourself and you can always ask your gp to refer you. Make your mental health your priority. I have learnt that the hard way. Stay safe, stay blessed everyone β€οΈ
