To search for a training provider you can use our ‘Search for a Training Provider’ tool here:

Our tool will show you training providers that offer training in the following activities:
• Cash and Valuables in Transit
• Close Protection
• Door Supervision
• Public Space Surveillance (CCTV)
• Security Guard
• Vehicle Immobilising

We do not run training courses or receive any money from the fees you pay to your training provider. We also do not approve or vet training providers. You should be wary of any training provider claiming to be "SIA approved".

Training providers are approved by the awarding organisations that issue the qualifications. You should contact the relevant awarding organisation if you wish to check that your training provider is approved.

Reduction to the licence fee takes effect today.

The cost of applying for an individual licence for any sector has now been reduced from £190 to £184. This is the lowest fee ever since licensing was introduced in 2004.

The reduction applies to both new applicants and those renewing existing licences.

Licence holders applying for an additional licence after this date will pay 50 percent of the new reduced fee.

The reduction has been possible due to various efficiency and cost savings we have made. These savings have also enabled us to increase our resourcing for our inspection and enforcement work, bolstering its footprint and visibility across the UK without increasing the licence fee. We have doubled the number of staff working in intelligence, inspections, and criminal investigations.
