Just wanted to pop on here before the Hogmanay celebrations begin and wish you all the happiest of new years!

Whether you had a great year or a hard one, know that a new year is just around the corner giving us permission to try again and undoubtedly fail all over again! We’re only human after all!

I am taking a break from social media for the foreseeable future. I’ll be on sporadically but will be focusing more on being creative just for the sake of it. I’m back to writing and reading A LOT and I feel particularly at home where I am just now so will be going with it until I no longer feel called to.

I hope you can all do the same this new year. Focus on what is lighting you up in the moment and go with it. No excuses, no expectations; just do it for YOU!

Thank you so much for all the support again this year. I loved seeing you all again at our Conscious Market earlier in the month and I look forward to more exciting things coming later in the year.

I hope you all had a lovely day, however you chose to spend it. put a lovely post out earlier where she acknowledged that some people find Christmas hard. I just want to reiterate what Fearne said, that if you found the day difficult for whatever reason, I hope you are a little more at peace now it’s over.

Hello to all our new and old friends! 👋🏼

I hope you all had a wonderful time at our Christmas Conscious Market last weekend - how was it almost a week ago already!

Thank you again to everyone who came along and to everyone exhibiting and running workshops. You are all so wonderful and I appreciate you SO much.

I’ll be on here a little less over the festive period while I practice what I preach and start slowing down a bit for winter. I will be back though and have so many exciting things to share with you in the new year so watch this space!

Until then, I’ll just be sharing my wee adventures and slow moment in between the madness of Christmas and new year.

I hope you try to slow down as well and take time for yourselves when you can.

TOMORROW!! ✨

It’s market eve! The car is packed, the alarms have been set and I am SO excited to be back with our Christmas Conscious Market tomorrow at !

Doors open from 11am - 4pm and we have plenty of foodie options to get you sticking around for as long as you like!

Firstly, you can grab a coffee and lunch at the lovely cafe or ,if you fancy some handmade pizza, why not try the amazing .pizza.findochty who will be parked up in the bottom car park for the duration of our event.
abdn will also be outside with her sweet and savoury crepes 🤤or why not head inside and buy some sweet treats from one of our three bakers , and . All super delicious but all offering something a little different.

We’ll also have our sofas set up in the reception area so there’s plenty of places to rest while you take a break from all that Christmas shopping.

It’s looking to be quite frosty tomorrow so drive safely and we’ll see from 11am 😊✨

The count down is officially on with only SEVEN days to go until our CHRISTMAS CONSCIOUS MARKET 2023!!

Doors will be opening at 11am next Sunday the 3rd of December for our first and last market of the year! We’re expecting a great turnout after having a year off so, if there’s anything you have an eye on, get down there nice and early to make sure you grab it before someone else does!

Unwind this festive season and immerse yourself in the calming art of modern calligraphy.

With guidance from your tutor, Donia, you will learn the fundamentals of modern calligraphy whilst mastering the art of pointed pen and find your calm during this mindful practice. You will apply the calligraphy skills you learn to create a hand lettered glass bauble with a festive phrase or a loved ones name. You will then go on to fill the bauble with a festive selection of Hollie Berries Flowers’ beautiful dried flowers.

The perfect gift for a loved one or to take pride of place on your Christmas tree!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, you don't need to have good handwriting or be artistic for this workshop.

Can you believe it’s only 4 weeks until our Christmas Conscious Market?! It feels like only last week I said yes to the idea!

I am thrilled to say we are fully booked so will be jam packed with 52 small businesses joining on the day. We are covering everything this year from herbal remedies to sustainable jewellery and vegan cakes to mobile saunas! 🧖🏻‍♀️

I have no shame in admitting that one of the best parts of organising these events is the shopping! There’s no shopping experience quite like it. Our regular customers know exactly what I mean! 😉

Our sustainable winter wreath workshop with has also sold out but do not fear… I have another very lovely workshop coming your way just shortly! I suspect this one will fill up fast so maybe hit the reminder option when I announce it later.

Apologies for the radio silence on here lately. We’ve been sunning ourselves in the Canary Islands and catching up with some other bits and pieces back home meaning my emails and messages have been severely neglected recently! 🥴

I have, however, finally made the decision to leave my day job and get back to doing the things that really light me up (hint - it’s not working in front of a computer all day!!)

I cannot wait to get back to Slow Living Events full time from next week. After this week, expect the Christmas posts and preparations to finally begin and our coffee dates & autumn walks to resume! 🍂 I cannot wait!!

So great to see some familiar faces in Portree, Isle of Skye the other day!

We visited the brilliant new visitor centre and saw, not only a huge collection of their incredible candles (one of my favourites!), but also a selection of products from our friends & too!

After having some lunch in their restaurant, , and buying too many candles in their shop, we headed over to Portree town centre where we visited - a wonderful handcrafted sheepskin store & .skye where we found our other friend - !

ÒR (the Gaelic for gold) is such a beautiful shop and is full of independent designers and artists. I thoroughly recommend a visit to all of the above next time you are over in the island.

Happy Sunday everyone! 😊

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend whatever you got up to! Was it busy & exciting or was it a restful one in preparation for the week ahead? I’d love to know what you got up to so let me know in the comment below 👇🏼

I took a wee trip up to Ballater this weekend - always in awe at how lucky I am to live less than an hours drive away from the Cairngorms. Such a beautiful part of Scotland and I can wait to explore more when we get in our camper next month!

I didn’t take many instagram worthy photos whilst I was there so here’s some from the last time I was up staying at ‘A Tiny House, Ballater’ run by - a stunning tiny home only 5 minutes away from the centre on Ballater.

We thoroughly enjoyed the loft bed, stunning views & tiny log fire. Oh, and I can’t forget that coffee machine either - my other half’s favourite part of the stay! The tiny home sleeps 4 and is dog friendly too - perfect for all the family if you don’t mind the squeeze!

We are heading up the West coast of Scotland in a camper van soon and we haven’t planned our route yet! 😬

Does anyone have any recommendation of which islands to visit or campsites to use? It’ll be the 4 of us so looking for family and dog friendly sites, walks and activities, please.

Also, any tips on actually running a campervan are appreciated too! 😂

Hello & happy Monday to all our new and old friends!

As you may have seen, I haven’t posted on here since end of last year so, I figured it was about time I came back to say hello!

My new job is still going really well and I am enjoying it a lot. It’s been really nice to have a “normal” job for a while and come home to my kids at the end of the day without the added pressures owning your own business brings (all you entrepreneurs know what I mean!)

Unfortunately, we won’t be back this spring but I do have plans to return later in the year with some wellness workshops for you all - watch this space!
