On our way to Manchester United Women, we were discussing whether there was any possibility of another game after the early kick-off. I had looked a couple of days ago and didn't really see anything. However, we came up with the idea of leaving Manchester United Women slightly early and then driving up to this game probably missing the first few minutes....

Rory Drake has asked me if I fancied this game a few weeks ago, and at the minute, I'm on a role of doing new grounds, so I may as well keep it going! It was a bit of a trek over to this midday kick-off after picking Rory up in Sunderland, and it took a little while to get parked at Leigh Sports Village....

With Easington's game at Newcastle Benfield postponed, I had another opportunity for a new ground. Surprisingly, there were a quite a few Northern Counties East League games which survived the weather, but I was worried about the possibility of a late call off as they were all grass pitches. Before this, I had five grounds left to complete division one east of the Northern Premier League, and the combination of me needing to do this ground and it being on an artificial pitch is what convinced me to do this game....

I enjoyed this visit. I would have Wombwell in my top 10 and probably top eight grounds so far in the Northern Counties East League. It has character to it with it being in a carting complex, and everyone is friendly. The ground consists of one stand with hard standing round the rest of the ground. Behind the bottom goal is grassed....

I've been interested in doing this ground for a while now, and there was always going to be plenty of opportunities to get to it with York Ladies playing here on Sundays. It’s an athletics track with a football pitch in the middle, and there is one quite long four rows deep seated stand. The stand will seat a few hundred....

This ground was one of two options for last midweek, but the postponement led to me going to Cleethorpes. This is just round the corner compared to Cleethorpes! I'm down to 10 division one grounds left to complete the Northern Counties East League now. Dearne are recently promoted from step 7, and the ground in some ways reflects that. It's unique in the way that all of its facilities are converted shipping containers....

Most seasons, I would have been to the Vic at least a couple of times by this point in the season, but this was my first visit of the season, and I hadn't been since Februrary when Pools beat Altrincham. The only other time I had watched Pools since then was in the 7-1 humiliation away to Gateshead in March....

Leeds United Women last Sunday was a great opportunity to tick off Elland Road, and this was another good opportunity to tick a Football League ground off. Having not done many grounds over that area a month ago, I've had a few trips over the A59 recently with the likes of Clitheroe, Blackburn Rovers, Bamber Bridge and now Accrington Stanley....

Marras battle to three points at West End Horden Community Welfare picked up a hard fought three points with a 2-1 win away to Sunderland West End on Saturday afternoon. Goals from Jack Pounder and Philly Angus helped the Marras to the three points, with Craig Linsel on the scoresheet for West End. It certainly wasn't a comfortable win for Horden though....

The plan for this midweek was to either do Dearne & District on Tuesday or Worsbrough Bridge on Wednesday. I looked on Tuesday morning (yesterday) to see if there were any other options as I did quite fancy doing a new ground, and this was the only other option. Dearne was called off, and therefore this was the only option. After checking traffic and the weather forecast (if it was going to snow much or if it looked too cold for the pitch to be playable I wouldn't have gone), I decided it was worth the long trip to Cleethorpes....

I've been wanting to do Elland Road for a while, but a first team game was always unlikely given how difficult it is to get tickets and because of the prices. I thought there would be a couple of games there at the end of last season (County Cup finals) but it was only a Sunday league cup and a junior cup....

Colliers pick up point at Blyth Easington Colliery picked up another good point in a 1-1 draw away to second placed Blyth Town on Saturday afternoon. Dan Wilson put Blyth ahead in the 18th minute, but the Colliers equalised through Dylan Elliott in the 67th minute. The Colliers looked the more likely to win it late on, but a point was still a very good result....

Marras pick up comfortable three points against Chester-le-Street Town Horden Community Welfare claimed a comfortable three points with a 4-0 win at home to Chester-le-Street Town on Friday night. Philly Angus scored a brace for the Marras, while Taylor Campbell and Jack Pounder were also on the scoresheet. Upon kick-off, Horden had an earlier half sight of goal as Pounder's glancing header drifted wide, before the deadlock was broken with 10 minutes played....

Morecambe is one of the Football League grounds I've had on my radar for a little while, and I decided a few weeks ago to target this game as an opportunity to tick it off. A 19:00 kick-off is more difficult to get to from work, but it means the time you get back is quite a bit earlier. I travelled straight over from work (about 2 hours 10 minutes with the traffic) and arrived right on kick-off....
