Welcome to the Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair (27th - 30th August 2020) - Scotland's premier equestrian event.
Equestrian sport dominates the four days, competitors ranging from Olympic champions to local Pony Club children and everyone in between, and many different types of equestrian competition can be seen. If you are not especially horse-crazy though, fear not, there is still plenty to watch and lots of things to keep you entertained!
The Country Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday, and showcases all sorts of countryside pursuits. Displays in the Country Fair Arena in recent years have encompassed everything from traditional countryside pastimes such as falconry and gundog training to the more modern activity of quad bike stunt riding!
Superb shopping…
Over 200 trade stands offer something to suit every taste and every budget. Fine art, casual and country clothing, jewellery and vehicles are all available. A large food hall is full of delights – handmade chocolates, organic and rare breed meats, pastries and baked goods, fine wines… delicious! Equestrian shoppers too will be in their element, with tack, clothing, horseboxes, jumps, feed and bedding all on offer.
Spectacular Setting….
Located in Highland Perthshire, Atholl Estates is centred around the famous landmark of Blair Castle. Steeped in history, the castle and gardens are open to the public for day visitors, corporate events, functions and weddings.
Equal to this is the magnificent landscape of the 145,000 acre estate offering scenes of rolling farmland and wild open hills. The wildlife and atmosphere of this true wilderness can be enjoyed in many different ways and we offer a range of activities and support to suit most tastes and abilities.
Atholl Estates is one of Scotland’s best known Highland estates. Its history dates back to the 13th century but through the ages it has adapted to its time and today it manages a range of operations in the tourism, events, forestry, farming, property and country sport sectors. Although managed commercially, our central aims are the preservation and enhancement of the natural, built and social environment of the estate.
