Sarah Leanney Humanist Celebrant Creating bespoke & beautiful Humanist wedding, funeral, baby naming and vow renewal ceremonies. Never settle for ordinary!

Everybody is fantastically unique and everybody deserves to have their major life events celebrated in a way that is entirely personal, joyous, heartfelt and momentous. For me, this is the very essence of Humanism. Making the most of the one life we have, seeking to understand the world through logic, reason, and evidence, and treating those around us with warmth, understanding and respect. Whethe

r it is the joyous celebration of a marriage, the loving remembrance of a life well lived, the festivity of welcoming a new life or the re-affirmation of a couple’s special commitment to one another, I will work directly with you to share your unique story and create a heart-warming and truly memorable occasion in exactly the way you wish. Throughout my previous 20 years in the world of estate agency, I loved learning all about my clients, building close relationships with them, being the steadying hand that guided them through times of stress and providing the best experience possible for them. These professional skills, combined with an outgoing personality and a lively sense of humour, made becoming a Humanist Celebrant a natural choice for me. After having attended Humanist ceremonies, and particularly the wedding of my own daughter, I realised that becoming a Humanist Celebrant would be one of the most rewarding roles I would ever undertake. To be a part of people’s most momentous life events is an honour, and to be able to create and deliver a celebration which is entirely fitting and unique is an absolute privilege. This role enables me to combine my professional approach with a genuine enthusiasm for getting to know people and learning about their amazing lives. When I’m not up to my elbows in a varied range of crafts, I can be found dragging my husband of 33 years on adventures around the country in my campervan, throwing myself into freezing cold water in the hope that it will let me live forever, or laughing like a drain with friends and family.

Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever. Yesterday we laid to rest a beautiful baby girl who didn't stay for long, but left such precious memories for her parents. 🩷 Many thanks to the care and compassion shown by Laura and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at New Grandsable Cemetery.

I can't wait to blend Scottish and Spanish traditions together when we celebrate this gorgeous couple's wedding next May. Rocio and Stuart will say their "sí, quiero's" in the heart of the Stirlingshire countryside, surrounded by the family that they love ❤️

A deeply loved husband, Dad, Pappi, brother, friend and colleague. An enormously respected consultant at Falkirk Royal Infirmary whose greatest love was his family. A man of great integrity and exceptional modesty. There were so many ways to describe Dr Robert Cole, and his family and friends adored every aspect of him. ❤️ We celebrated his remarkable life this morning, and I would like to extend my thanks to Craig and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at Falkirk Crematorium

This morning we celebrated a great man's legendary sense of humour. David Boyle loved making people laugh almost as much as he loved Hibs FC. He enriched the lives of everyone that knew him and will forever live in their most cherished memories. Many thanks to Gary at Brodies Funeral Directors and the staff at Almondell Cemetery.

This morning we said goodbye to a remarkable man, whose priorities in life were his family (very closely followed by football!) Dave Taylor's daughters shared beautiful tributes to their cherished Dad, and we listened to some lovely memories from his family and friends. Dave will stay forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him ❤️. Many thanks to Neil at Roy and McIntyre Funeral Directors and the staff at Stirlingshire Crematorium.

It may seem a long time to go, but I'll bet the next 3 years just fly by for these two lovelies! I can't wait to help Lauren and Brandon say their "I do's" at the beautiful Dunblane Hydro, and step into the next chapter of their life together. ❤️

Nothing dampened the absolute joy and abundance of laughter as Stacey and Stevie got married yesterday. Not the torrential rain, the gazebo blowing down or even the alpaca who decided to answer nature's call right in the middle of the wedding vows! It was so much fun spending the afternoon with the new Mr and Mrs Murray and I wish this gorgeous couple a lifetime of laughter and love together. ❤️

Jacky Ballantine was very proud of her beautiful garden, and especially the Livingston daisies that she grew from seed. These lovely flowers represented all the best of her own qualities...vibrant, joyous and able to bring a smile to your face. Her family celebrated her wonderful life this morning, and I was honoured to help them. ❤️ Many thanks to Natalie, Craig and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at Falkirk Crematorium

On Tuesday I had the privilege of delivering a celebration of Patricia Ring's life. Pat, as she was known to everyone, was a beloved Mum, Grandma, great Grandma and honourary auntie. We listened to a beautiful reading from the Velveteen Rabbit and recalled some of her family's most precious memories ❤️ Many thanks to Lynsey, Emma and the team at Co-op Funeralcare and the staff at West Lothian Crematorium.

This morning I had the honour of helping a lovely family say goodbye to their much-loved mother, gran and great-gran. Nancy Watson was a generous, unassuming lady who was happiest when watching her loved ones shine. She will never be forgotten ♥️. Many thanks to Stephanie, Finlay and the team at Co-op Funeralcare, and also the staff at Falkirk Crematorium.
