I was honoured today to create a summer flower themed balloon arch for a Fashion show and afternoon tea, for the phenomenal charity St Luke's Hospice Plymouth, at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth, in the Penthouse restaurant, with stunning views of Plymouth’s Hoe, my favourite place in Plymouth, where all the money raised by the organisers was donated to the charity, raising £2,000. WOW 😮 Congratulations everyone for all your hard work, you should be so very proud.
I created the arch over 2 days, as we had limited time to assemble the arch in the main function room. Yesteday the columns were created and the top of the arch, in one room, then today it was moved and completed in the main event area, accompanying a long red carpet, as a catwalk for the stunning models to show the designers stunning clothing collection.
The balloon colour palette was themed around St Luke’s vivid orange, I was given a small collection of official St Luke’s balloons, which I used as petals in the large tropical flowers, and decorated the arch, to promote the charity. The rest of the balloons were chosen to compliment this orange, and reflect the summer theme, with deep sunset orange, peach, sunflower yellow, macaroon yellow, white, satin white, ivory and lace white.
The fashion show and afternoon tea was a huge success and it was a total pleasure creating this for the organisers and of course St Luke’s Hospice.
