It's gone! Thank you all SO MUCH for your support on this copyright/IP theft issue! We had 56+ shares on Facebook, countless 'likes' and messages of support. The insta post had nearly 15k veiws (still going!) and 21 shares. My lovely publisher filed a copyright infringement report direct with Amazon, and lots of you left negative reviews on the listing itself, which took the rating of the 'book' from 4.5 stars to less than 3. And now it's gone from Amazon, and at least one seller, World of Books, from Ebay. Community rocks! Thank you thank you thank you, to all of you who spoke out on this. 🥰
ETA: You can still get the real book from vivebooks.com, and also there is more updated info on corset making on my Patreon, Oxford School of Corsetry.

Finished a couple of little Regency style sleeveless Spencer/vests today. Test pieces, made from using both sides of a small scrap of ribbed silk*. There’s a royal blue and a blue black, each £50 including UK shipping. These are lined in black linen twill, tie at the centre front and will fit a 36-40 inch underbust- over stays😍

* Just tested this and it is indeed all silk :-)

One lucky child played with this doll and its trousseau in the late 1800s. The beautiful clothes are handmade and hand embroidered.
The porcelain doll was created by the famous Eugene Barrois Poupee company in Paris.
The Barrois family was one of the earliest French dollmakers to use porcelain heads.
Many porcelain heads on French fashion dolls were marked with Barrois' initials, E. B.
Other doll makers could commission the heads in various stages of completion and decoration. Eugene’s creations incorporated innovations such as glass eyes and open mouths on his heads.
Sold by the Carmel Doll Shop.

Really starting to look a lot like autumn here- I love these little pumpkins and squashes, beautifully decorative and there’s a chance I might get some soup out of them at a later stage🥸. 2.7m of this ‘80s does art deco’ chenille fabric, from pre-polyester days, available in the shop.

Dearest gentle reader,

As the social season draws to a close, I believe it is my responsibility to keep you informed as esteemed members of the Ton.

Fans are a-fluttering – a Georgian ‘pleasure house’ in the grounds of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park is to undergo a restoration and revival.

The Grade II* listed English Garden House is in the heart of the formal gardens at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and has been out of bounds to the public for many years.

Now thanks to funding through a £256,000 Historic Building Restoration grant from .national.landscape Farming in Protected Landscapes programme, an Historic England grant worth £50,000 and a £20,000 contribution from the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe, a project to preserve and protect the building will get underway next month.

The house was built purely for the purpose of pleasure – and without going into too much detail on what the gentry got up to – there’s a marble bath big enough for six people and a viewing platform for idle eye-wondering above it…

It was even visited by King George II and Queen Charlotte in 1789.

More information is here: https://ow.ly/OK6550TrMb0

Do consider yourself informed, dear reader.

Yours truly,
Lady Whistledown

Salvaging this beautiful piece of Maltese lace today, it has sadly been cut at the ends , but still a goodly piece for reuse 😍. Wheatear stitches and Maltese crosses in evidence, plus this is made with an unusually whitish coloured silk thread.
