DEVCON Welcomes SAMUEL ANDERSON Best known to our Sci-Fi Fans as DANNY PINK in Doctor WHO. However TV viewers will have also watched him, in many other roles & series. 'The History Boys' is one! This highly credited, Alan Bennett' adaptation of his acclaimed, long-running play set in 1980s Yorkshire, finds Samuel playing one of the classmates of likely lads, caught in a clash of educational styles as they prepare to apply to Oxford or Cambridge. As the photo below shows, this brilliant piece of work, helped enhance the career of many other familiar actors ~ Samuel really has worked in great company & he's really looking forward to chatting to our DEVCON Visitors about his experiences!

DEVCON Sept 15th, Welcomes MICHAEL CARTER. In 1983 Michael attained the role of BIB FORTUNA in RETURN of the JEDI, after being head hunted by 2 acclaimed directors, who both thought he was a ‘terrific actor’! Things could have worked out quite differently as due to a communication error, he very nearly got missed & it was only because, as he was leaving for the day, the director spotted him in the waiting room, that he even knew he had turned up to test for the part.
However ‘Test for the part’ he did not, as in light of the high opinion of his acting skills & because of his Tallness, Michael was actually offered the part, without an audition, which was very rare! Such valuable advice THANQ for sharing, I recommend anyone selling same or similar products to look into this🤔😃

Not a fun day today but an essential one. Getting the legal bits sorted today on all the plushies adding the UKCA labelling and updating.

Ive mentioned it more than once but its so important it bears repeating - if you're a soft toy maker, making to sell and you arnt testing/know nothing about/think it doesnt apply to you - i encourage you to get really familiar with all the soft toy regs and commence testing ASAP - it is a legal requirement and its honestly not as bad as it sounds on paper.

If you are a consumer always check when buying handmade for the UKCA label. Its a safety standard and important to ensure your children are playing with a fully tested toy :)

The Plymouth Brick Festival will be full of fab FREE activities for LEGO builders of all ages. Our most popular are the LIVE build activities starting from 2.15pm.

These fun challenges aim to test your brick building ability - with awesome LEGO prizes to be won!

Places for these activities are LIMITED and must be booked in advance. This can be done on arrival by heading to our Activity Sign Up Desk. Each activity has both a Kids and Adult round.

|> Sorted - Who can sort out a whole jumble of bricks the fastest?
|> Build in a Bag - Can you build an entire LEGO set without even opening the bag?
|> Tower Stack - Building tall, taller, tallest is the aim of this game!
|> Mosaic Maker - Time to get creative and make your masterpiece.
