This is the reason why we are putting on a benefit concert for Ukraine…

Meet Oksana and her daughter Weronika, who has just turned 11 and her brother Nikita who’s 7. They have recently arrived in the UK and are being sponsored to live in Bubwith just outside York.

Their home town of Kherson, which is on the banks of the Dnipro River in Eastern Ukraine, has been obliterated by the Russian army.

Oksana has bravely spoken for a press release which went out yesterday:

“Our hearts are broken. We had to leave our family and friends for a safer life here in the UK. But we think about them every waking moment.”

“I really do thank the people of the UK and our York sponsors for giving my family a safer life. We hope that we can one day return to a safe and free Ukraine.”

The family and their UK sponsors will be the special VIP guests at the Yorkraine benefit concert for Ukraine at the Grand Opera House York on the 24th May.

ALL proceeds from ticket sales will go to the British Red Cross and DEC to continue their efforts in Ukraine.

Ticket sales are ok so far, but we want to sell as many as possible. Please come and join us for a night of music at the Grand Opera House.

The concert is being produced for free by our sister company Soapy Productions

Julia is raising money to help her fellow Ukrainian people whose lives have been torn apart by war.

She’s made these ribbons to sell - and came in to our office this morning to see if we could help.

Our productions department watched a bit of the Brit Awards last night just to 'geek out' at the equipment being used. 😂

The sound guys are feeling excited after seeing the Brit Awards production was the first live indoor event for over 12 months. So they wanted to show you they are ready for live events to start.

At the heart of our small festival and bands packages our Allen and Heath SQ6 mixing systems that allows up to 48 input channels and 36 output channels.

The whole system links together with 2 cables. Speeding the set up time and offering quick changes of artists when used in a festival environment.

Getting ready for a smaller festival season this summer. We are are really impressed with the ChamSys QuickQ20 lighting desk which has just arrived.

This will create some great looking lighting shows for bands on our stages.

Great to be back working on live events. Sister Madly are a York based 7 piece band with two female vocal leads. 3 guitars, two keyboards and drums.

The challenge last night was to keep a lively band a little quieter than normal because of the current restrictions. No opportunity for sound desk to go front of house either.

The ALLEN & HEATH SQ-6 desk really does the job perfectly. We love the newly installed valve preamps. They give a fantastically warm tone to vocals. The band noticed it and hopefully the audience did too.

Aaand ACTION! 🎬😆 I’m usually helping with client projects behind the camera, so I was delighted to be asked to do some presenting for Good2Learn

I always say working in marketing with small businesses means you have to be a chameleon...

No two days are the same! 😃

Good2Learn is a really exciting ed-tech startup we are working with. The online learning platform includes bite size video lessons (actual presenters) aimed at school kids up to KS4.

Each topic has 1000s of questions, so kids can spend as much time as needed learning and improving in their own time.

The video I presented was “alliteration, sibilance and assonance” ...try saying that after a few!

Congratulations to Sophie Metcalfe MCIM our Director of Creative and Marketing Strategy. Who is now a full member of the CIM - The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Sophie recently completed her Level 6 Diploma in 2 years (normally a 3 year course) whilst working full time and through a Pandemic.

And she is not resting there! Sophie has also launched the business support networking group Fempowered Collective. With the goal in changing attitudes and building confidence for women in business.
