As we are now out of the other side of the festival, we, the committee, would like to say a huge thank you to all of you.

DUCK RACE WINNERS!!

We have the winning duck race numbers and they are as follows;

1st Place - 148 - Rose
2nd Place - 541 - Reece Mayo
3rd Place - 609 - Mayor Bob Webb

Last Place (Wooden Spoon) - 305 - Gina Farrell

If any of the winners are still around in the village, please could you come over the Big Green for 6pm and collect your winnings!

What’s on today; SUNDAY 23rd JUNE

Today is our final day of the festival but don’t be sad, there is still plenty to do and see today!

9:45am sees us off with a church service down on Big Green

12:45pm we will joined by Polperro Community Choir! Not to be missed!

1:30pm the Duck Race starts! Make sure you get yourselves down on the bridge by the House on Props near the harbour to see if your duck brings you victory!

2:30pm is when Sophie and the Relics are playing! A diverse 5 piece band on Big Green!

4:30pm Pressure Drop are on, a funk and soul band with a Caribbean twist!

Finally at 6:30pm we have an Elton John tribute act! So dust off your dancing shoes and be prepared to dance the evening away!!

LOST PURSE!

We have found a purse that was left on the bench when looking at the Wicker man. This has been left with our security guard on Big Green for collection!

**Wickerman Update**

Due to the weather forecast this evening, the burning of the wickerman will commence on Saturday 8.30pm.
This will be safer for those lighting the wickerman and more enjoyable for us to be stood in the sunshine 🌞

What’s on today: FRIDAY 21st JUNE

Well today is foodie Friday! A chance to taste all of Polperro! A wonderful selection of local eateries selling some wonderfully cooked dishes to enjoy! You can find them all on Big Green from 12pm!

Next up we have a variety of competitions on Big Green starting with;

4:30pm sees the judging of The Great Polperro Bake Off on Big Green with the theme being ‘a hidden vegetable cake’

followed by the Oyster Eating at 5pm, a chance to eat 12 oysters in the quickest time possible thanks to Kitty’s Lobster Crab and Seafood Shack!

And then at 5:20pm we have our famous chilli eating competition! This year contestants will eat as many chilli wings as quickly as possible! Proudly sponsored by The Cornish Chilli Factory!

There is also live acoustic music throughout the day on Big Green so do make sure you are around to support and check them out!

7pm sees the return of The Good Old Fashioned Lover Boys! A popular band here in Polperro who are a queen tribute band, will definitely get you up and dancing! Not to be missed! They will be playing on the stage on Big Green!

8:30pm - as today is the longest day of the year (because of a leap year!) we will be burning the Wicker Man on the outer harbour as an ancient Celtic celebration to mark summer! There is still time to write any well wishes or comments on him! Just head to the information desk on Big Green where you can find some ribbon and a pen to write a nice message!

What’s on today: THURSDAY 20th JUNE

Today is the craft fair day starting at 11am!

Lots of local people from Polperro and the surrounding areas have come to together on Big Green on a number of different stalls offering something unique and personal so make sure you get down there and see what you can find!

5pm is bingo time! Head on down to Big Green before to get yourself a good seat and the winning bingo tickets!

7:30pm we have our comedy night at The Royal British Legion! Make sure you have bought your tickets this year as we have special guests Harriet Dyer and Sully O’Sullivan performing!

**PLEASE NOTE WE ONLY HAVE 6 SEATED SEATS LEFT FOR THIS EVENT! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE A TICKET, THE INFORMATION STAND WILL BE OPEN ON BIG GREEN FROM 2pm TODAY!**

We also have plenty of ducks ready for our duck race on Sunday to be sold so you can also purchase these from the information desk!

What’s on today; WEDNESDAY 19th JUNE

Today is church and charities day on Big Green! So come on down from 11am for a traditional fete-style day of entertainment!

11:30am we have UKE3A playing, a friendly and supportive ukulele band!

2pm we have the Looe Valley Singers performing for us!

5:30pm we will see Ben and Jammin take to the stage! A hugely favoured Polperro based group!

And finally rounding out the evening at 7pm is Polperro Wreckers performing their mix of Cornish songs, sea shanties and 60s numbers!

So a day not to be missed!! Come down and join in the sunshine and we will see you soon!

What’s on today; Tuesday 18th June!

Today is School’s Day! A chance to give our up and coming generations a chance to shine and show us what they are made of! Starting at 10:30am this morning the children from Polperro Primary School and neighbouring schools will be down performing on Big Green so please do come and support!

We have special guests today too! At 11:20am we have Lee and all the children performing Taekwondo demonstrations for us! And we also have a wondering magician to keep everyone entertained!

Lastly at around 5pm we have children from Looe Community School performing some pieces for us!

We hope to see you all!

Tickets are available from the information desk on Big Green Tuesday and Wednesday daytime and Thursday 2pm-5pm.

Alternatively you can purchase them on the door but run the risk of not getting the seats you want!

What’s on today; Sunday 16th June!

10:00am - Church Service on the Big Green!

11:30am - The Rovers return! Polperros very own dog show is upon! Break out the pooch and come down to Big Green at 11:30am to register and you can win prizes!

2:30pm - the music starts again kicking off with Young, Oliver and Young, a popular 3 piece band

4:30pm - The Claze comes on next who are a north Cornish folk rock band!

6:30pm - rounding out the evening is our 7 piece party band Get Wicked! They play covers from swing to funk!

TODAYS THE DAY!

We can’t wait to welcome you to the first day of the festival! Here is a quick rundown of todays events;

12:30pm - the festival procession kicks off at The Village Hall and works its way down through the village until we get onto Big Green

1pm - the time has come to say farewell to current Lord Mayors Andy and Abby and say hello to the newly appointed Lord Mayor!

2:30pm - music kicks off with The Busketeers, with music ranging from folk to rock and pop!

4:30pm - next on we have Strange Almond with their 80s music!

5pm - the new Lord Mayor, after sampling all the ales of course!, will go down to the beach for the traditional meeting of the tide!

6:30pm - finally we have Dr Oz ending tonight’s music with some serious funky soul party beats!

1 DAY TO GO! 🥳

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes today making sure everything is ready for tomorrows festival! We hope you are ready to enjoy all we have to offer!

Just a few final words before the festivities tomorrow to keep in mind during the week;

Please be mindful the decorations and plant life all over Big Green and around the village, please remember to throw away all rubbish via the bins available. Keep safe and enjoy the festival!

2 DAYS TO GO!! 🤪

As we a fast approaching we should let everybody know about the Information Desk on Big Green!

This desk will be located next to the wicker man under the tent everyday and it’s from here you can get the following;

- labels to write messages for the wicker man
- buy duck race ducks
- buy comedy night tickets
- buy festival cups
- get festival programmes

We will also have a board that will be updated everyday with what’s on each day so make sure you check us out!

3 DAYS TO GO!! 😱

As we are on the final countdown I think it’s best to shed some light on how the first days proceedings are going to go!

Please can as many people meet at the Village Hall at 12:30pm to start the procession in order to give the Lord Mayors Andy and Abby the best send off possible!

Then at 1pm the procession will lead onto Big Green where the new mayor will be revealed!

And at 2:30pm is the start of the bands kicking off on Big Green well into the evening!

And finally 5pm is when our new mayor shall ’meet the tide’!

All good fun not to be missed out! Programmes are available from a majority of businesses throughout the village as well as on the information desk under the Big Green tent for a small donation!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the Village Hall at 12:30pm this coming Saturday!!

We have double the fun on Thursday evening of our festival with both a bingo night and a comedy night!

Bingo will be held under the tent at Big Green with eyes down at 5pm so make sure you turn up early to bag yourself a table and some winning bingo tickets!

Comedy night will be held at The Royal British Legion at 7pm with some comedy legends Harriet Dyer and Sully O’Sullivan performing!

**PLEASE NOTE** This is a 18+ ticketed only event, tickets will be on sale at the information desk on Big Green from Saturday 15th June and are at a first come first served basis!

DUCK RACE!

We have something different this year for you for our annual Duck Race, we are introducing some new super ducks!

These ducks look completely different to the other 800 ducks and even have their own names! But of course these ducks come at a price; all regular ducks are £1 a duck and the new super ducks are £5.

Please buy all these ducks from the information desk under the tent at Big Green and we will see you all ready for their grand launch on Sunday 23rd June at 1:30pm!

Boy do we have some treats for you for Foodie Friday (21st June 2024) of the festival!

We have not 1, not 2 but 3 competitions for you to get yourselves stuck into!!

Firstly, there is the The Great Polperro Bake Off with this years theme of “Hidden Vegetable Cake!” This competition is free to enter and judging will take place at 4:30pm on Big Green!

Next up is a new challenge for us, The Oyster Eating Contest! For £12 entry, you could see if you can sn**ch top prize by eating a dozen oysters in the quickest time! If you would like to enter please pop by Kitty’s on the quayside for more details.

And finally, we have the infamous Chilli Challenge returning. Have you got what it takes to eat the most chilli wings in the quickest time? This competition takes place at 5:20pm on Big Green and is £5 to enter so try your luck!

As we are a little over 4 weeks away we are busy putting together the final plans for this years festival!

We have lots of activities for everyone to enjoy including the return of The Rovers! Polperro’s very own dog show!

Thank you to everyone who came to our annual auction on Friday and thank you to everyone who donated things to be auctioned off! It truly was a fantastic evening!

We have now counted our totals and can reveal, that with your generosity, we have raised a grand total of…

£5167.00!!!

All of this money will be put back into the festival to ensure we have the best festival we can!
