This is Poppy! Poppy is our littlest cast member and will be joining us for the first time on stage in January as a Sunbeam. Poppy’s name has been down since March 2018 when her mum Sarah discovered she was pregnant with twins following IVF treatment. Daisy and Poppy were born prematurely with lots of complications. Downs Syndrome was also confirmed when they were 6 days old. Following numerous ups and downs Poppy went through open heart surgery to repair 3 holes in her heart and later had a pacemaker fitted before being discharged on World Downs Syndrome Day at 6 months old. Daisy passed away that same week from sepsis after becoming too unwell to have her heart repaired. So now Poppy is representing them both! She is still tiny, but very strong and fought so hard to get to where she is today. She loves dancing and dressing up, and has a smile that lights up the room! Poppy's mum Sarah will be on stage with her. Sarah joined when she was 9 in 1988 with her Dad and cousin Sally for Cinderella. Starting as a Sunbeam, then through to junior dancer she took her first principal role in Little Miss Muffet in 1993. Continuing into the ladies chorus and then playing many different parts from principal girl to baddie over the years. Sarah says "I’m so proud of everything Poppy has achieved so far and can’t wait to share the stage with her for the first time"

Producer Jo added "Having known Sarah for over 30 years, I first met Poppy at a couple of weeks old when she was in intensive care. I was lucky enough to visit her and Daisy regularly whilst they were in hospital. We were delighted to welcome staff from their Ward to see our Panto in January 2019 as our guests to thank them for all they were doing. I am delighted that Poppy will be on stage with us and can't wait to see her perform. I think everyone in the Society has a lot to learn from Poppy not just her resilience, but her sense of fun - it is great to see her High 5ing all the Juniors and dancing with our Sunbeams ."

Join Crofton Silver Band Band as they celebrate their 150th anniversary with a special concert at Pontefract Town Hall. Featuring guest soloist Kirsty Abbotts and a special performance from the Crofton Silver Bandits!

The whole evening will be hosted by ITV Calendar's, Ian White!
