I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly.

I’m Kayla and the first photo is of me and my three children. I’m an ex primary school teacher and I still work in an education based job full time. I started sewing when I was on maternity leave with my little girl but only started off with basic clothing. I officially started making dance costumes when my daughter started competing around a year ago.
Here’s a reel with some of my recent makes.

I’m super grateful for everyone who trusts me to make costumes. I know I don’t have a lot of availability but when I do I can promise you that costumes are made with love and care!

To show my appreciation, I will be choosing someone before Christmas to receive their costume at cost price. This will be someone who already has a costume booked in and this will vary depending on design and material cost, probably between £50- £100 but my time (normally between 7 and 15 hours) will be completely free.

Straight back to making some tutus. Here’s a bit of the process you don’t see. Pattern drafting. I draft the pattern out and have to make adjustments based on measurements. I then have to cut the pattern out before I can even begin to work with the material.

I tie the boas on so that if they need to be replaced in the future, this can be done quickly and easily(They are still very secure though)

I absolutely loved making this beautiful tap costume complete with bows and leg cuffs😍 I’m now booked up for the rest of this year but I am open for bookings for January onwards. I’m forever grateful to everyone who has trusted me to make a costume or tutu.
