Please note that our usual Wednesday night Salsa & Kizomba classes at Bar So this week will be taking place this Thursday at Bar So and not Wednesday.
This is because Bar So is hosting a university graduation party this Wednesday.

So join us this Thursday at Bar So for both Salsa & Kizomba in the Basement Bar/Club and So Bachata in the Dome area, Both event are 7.30pm-1am

“Son Cubano“ Son” music is to salsa as roots are to a tree.
Salsa has many roots, but the style that gave rise to and shaped it more than any other is Son Cubano. Son is the most important and influential music to have evolved in 20th Century Cuba. Armando Sa’nchez, leader of Conjunto Son de la Loma, states that the Son “is a people’s music-a true expression of the Cuban people’s history and life.”
This music, more than any other, expresses and identifies the ethos of the Cuban people. “Son originated in the 1800’s in the mountains of Oriente
Son Cubano is the bedrock for most forms of salsa music and Latin jazz, Take your dance to a higher level - Understand concept and fundamentals of Son Cubano, improve your style, musicality, body movement and elegance
Is all about subtle notes. In a dance where each small step counts, each leading note counts. The leading is very subtle yet precise.
