The glamour and reality…
It’s not always 5 star hotels and card tricks.
Last week, my van died! I was booked to perform at a small private party out in rural Shaftesbury.
The guests weren’t quite ready, so I parked just over half a mile away and told the booker no problem let me know when you’re ready and I’ll swoop in…
I get the text, go to start the van, nothing. My battery is flat.
The client is really cool and asks if I want to cancel.
That word just doesn’t exist in my vocabulary and I wasn’t that far away.
I realised I had a scooter with me, I’ll scoot there!
It was pitch black so I put my Hi-Viz on, an LED light from my van as a headlight and I scoot along this country road close up cases in hand to the gig and a bottle of wine for the birthday girl stuffed in my coat 😂
I got there quickly and in one piece.
We had an amazing time and a buddy came to my rescue later to pick me up and jump start the van.
A fun story to tell, but I’d rather not repeat that 😆

I’m so lucky to have so many great friends and colleagues in the wedding and events industry, I feel the need to shout about them.

YES, I do look 10 years younger, that’s because I had a tough paper round,and also because it was 9 years ago since my beautiful wife said yes in Paris. (What, too cliché?)
Who said yes over the festive period? If you have a friend getting married in 2024 or 2025 make sure you tag them to say congratulations! And also to tell them having a wedding host and magician is a flipping brilliant idea!

Hey 👋🏻, I’m James, I thought I’d give you a little summary of who I am and what I do so you can get to know me. You might have worked out by now, I am a magician and host. I create moments of laughter and wow reactions using magic and comedy. I also host weddings and events making them more memorable, fun and run on time.
I started performing professionally at 13 (I know child superstar!) and I’m now 32 (and don’t look a day older right…) so I have performed at almost every type of event and entertained thousands of people.
I’m a member of the Magic Circle, the Professional Emcee Association and an award winning magician 🏆
I live in Dorset but travel all over the South Coast and the rest of the UK. My wife Becky is an incredible wedding videographer. We’ve been married since 2017, but started dating when we were just 16 🥰
Our daughter, Darcy, keeps us busy when we aren’t at work along with our dog Billy!
