Working on designs today that remind me of this epic wedding. More to come from it, but there’s so much to love in this one image I felt it deserved a square all on its own.

Tipi tent
Indoor fire (yes please, anywhere)
Custom neon sign
Wildly abundant foliage
Beautiful warm lighting
Nice bar man

Tick, tick, tick…in love with all of that.

There’s something so special about a marquee wedding or party. The opportunity to create something so unique and build an environment that exists just for one day (or maybe three?!). I love the transience of it. No two will ever be the same and they can be so personal to you. Little worlds to get completely lost in.

Hi, I’m Melissa, I run a floral, styling and planning studio for weddings, private parties and corporate events.

I specialise in helping you with every aesthetic element of your event. Creating ideas and turning them into a memorable reality. But drawing from too many years of event experience that I’d like to admit to, I also offer complete party or wedding planning, where I take care of every tiny last detail. From the security to the stationary, the caterers to the generators and everything in between. Just because it’s called ‘wedding’ or ‘party’, doesn’t make it fun for you to organise. There’s a whole myriad of behind the scenes that quite frankly you don’t want to be dealing with if you don’t need to be! I’m sure you’re entirely capable but do you want to when you have a more important role that day, like being a bride, or the birthday boy!

Enquire via the website to chat about how I can help you for your next event and give you back the luxury of time.💥

I always think it’s made in the details. It’s the right shade of toffee rose, or the combination of flower types working together, the correct texture table mat modernised with on point cutlery.
It’s the tactile feel of bare wood against crisp linen, eclectic textured glassware, considered choice furniture pieces and finishing touches that thread it all together and speak the right language.

A well designed, thoughtfully worked through scheme should look effortless. But it’s actually complicated to pull together. Often using multiple suppliers, juggling logistics and delivery schedules, all working seamlessly together.

A stylist or designer knows all of this behind the scenes details and can encourage you to be bold with your choices. I love to offer a combined stylist and florist role for my clients. Its so exciting when the overall look is layered and built, ideas that we have worked on together for either months, sometimes years (or for this party about 2 weeks!), all bought to life, for one very special occasion.

With Summer parties in full swing now it’s a good moment to think about the level of detail you want to delve into for your event. Every visual decision impacts how your guests feel when they enter your party, so think about how refined you want that to get.

Here bamboo chairs, mixed with the right tone bare wood tables, the rattan elements working with different textured glassware, pale florals to add movement, ceramic plates, tonal candles, contemporary white and gold cutlery… and those boho parasols. All working together with the soundtrack of the sea beyond. 🤍 Every element is considered because it tells a story. We’ve just got to work out together what your story is.

The Summer Solstice. The longest day and the shortest night. A celebration of light. What a beautiful think to acknowledge and mark.

I think the light is so important at any event in terms of creating the right atmosphere and something to really consider when you’re planning what time of year you want to hold it. If you imagine parties in June you’re gifted endless summer light, but bare in mind your dance floor might not feel dark and inviting until after 10.00pm. So think about what time your venue finishes or and what elements are really important to you.

When you’re starting to think about which flowers you’d like to have at your wedding, try not to get too hung up on exact flower varieties. You can endlessly spend time looking at specifics that are then out of season or not easily available. Instead think about the words and feelings you want your flowers to evoke and tell those to your florist. Are they romantic, delicate, ethereal or bold, structural and vibrant?

Your florist will choose the best varieties at the time of ordering and by then they know you, they know your style, the colour palette and the vibe and they’ll choose the best blooms available that week with all of that in mind.

Pulling together a whole look for your event can be more complicated than you first think. Employing a stylist can help you not only imagine your aesthetic but also deliver it practically. They think visually but also logistically to ensure all the moving parts get delivered and installed on time to work for your venue, caterer and florist.

I offer a unique combined floristry and styling service. I love to help you with the entire look. Here I utilised a multitude of different suppliers. Linen and glassware from one, mixed with table ware and furniture from another. Statement florals that I create, combined with overhead chandeliers expertly installed by another contact. It’s about understanding the industry and utilising that knowledge with your needs at heart.

DM or email me to discuss what we can create for your event 💥

Pulling a whole room look together can be far more complicated then you might first imagine. Having insight into the industry means a stylist knows where to source the most relevant pieces, as locally and as efficiently as possible to save on multiple delivery costs for you. They design visually but also work in a logistical way to ensure it all works practically for your venue, caterer and florist.

I offer a unique combined floristry and styling service to help you with the entire aesthetic. Here I use a separate linen and glassware company, work with the venue’s own furniture but also bring in some specialist pieces from a supplier I know also has beautiful tableware. Finished with statement florals and overhead chandeliers mixed with our hanging wisteria branches to create a beautiful skyscape.

This was a multi day wedding with various set ups across three days and we constantly moved and repurposed pieces across the venue to stage each event in a new surrounding but also fully utilise the hire.

I love this gorgeous image from Dorset Wedding Photographer] of this overhead installation and tablescape. It explores everything that I want to talk to you about that’s important when designing the look for your event. Tone, texture, detail, impact, light, scale. There’s so many elements that come together to create a cohesive design through the flowers, tableware, linen, furniture, lighting etc. Thats why working as both your florist and stylist, I can help you bring your whole look together seamlessly.

Yesterday I posted a reel of this installation so you can see the full view if you look at the last post. 🤍
