It is truly a luxury to be able to take yourself off at a moments notice, to satisfy an urge to see something beautiful. A morning spent decluttering and moving furniture had me overwhelmed and uninspired. Stepping beneath these towering trees - Spruce I think, (though my conifer knowledge is a little rusty) was exactly what I needed. Listening to the sounds around us - the distant bark of a dog, the squeal of an excited child, the satisfying crunch of the thickening snow underfoot, the dull thud as clumps of it fell off weighted branches, the whistle of the wind weaving through the treetops. Moments like these feel like such a gift—unexpected, fleeting, and deeply grounding. I wasn’t sure whether to post this here or on my personal page, but I consider so many of you as friends now and I feel that being open about experiences like this is important on all platforms as you just never know who it might help in a small way. A couple of months ago I took part in an online creative writing class with @veryjessica and @themanifestationcollective and I have finally tweaked and refined the piece enough to be brave enough to share it! One of the visualisations that I had during the session was from when I worked at Kellie Castle in Scotland and their walled garden had a green wooden gate at the entrance. When visitors opened the gate and took their first step into the garden - their reaction was that of wonder and always came with an audible ‘Wow!’ which used to make us gardeners smile. They hadn’t realised what beauty was waiting for them beyond the gate. This year has been a LOT - of discovery, healing, love, stepping out of my comfort zone and I’ve made a lot of new friends - souls that align with the person I want to be. I braved a course of cognitive behavioural therapy which I was unsure of at first and spent the whole first session crying but my goodness did I learn a lot about my brain during those weeks. I would go so far to say it was life-changing. So 2024 was an emotional year to say the very least but one I am now glad I experienced and I’m ready to see what is beauty is behind the gate that I’m about to open in 2025. Also I’ll probably post a more upbeat reel later, looking back at my favourite flowery moments of the last 12 months so stay tuned for that. 😘😘😘

It’s such a privilege to go to my lovely clients houses and help them dress them for the festive season.
