Please be aware that there currently posts on local pages regarding a craft fayre at Somerset Hall on 6 & 7 July 2024. We can confirm that this is a SCAM and there is no such event happening.

This has nothing to do with Somerset Hall or North Somerset Council and has been reported to the relevant authorities.

Nailsea library will open in its new home on Wednesday 19 July! 😍🥳📚🖥

It’s moving to 6-8 Colliers Walk – the photo shows a sneak peek of what it looks like inside!

The library will close at its current location after it closes on Saturday 1 July, and then it’s on the move. Loans will be automatically extended and library members can use their library card at any of our North Somerset Libraries. Customers can also access free eBooks and eAudiobooks from home through the Librarieswest website.

The new, energy efficient and much more accessible library includes improved digital facilities. Plus, Extended Access means registered users will also be able to borrow books, use computers and Wi-Fi outside of staffed library hours.

We announced last autumn that we’ve signed a 125-year lease to secure the long-term future of a library in Nailsea. The existing 50-year-old building in Somerset Square needs substantial investment. Estimated costs to refurbish the library and address accessibility issues were estimated at over £1m, whereas the relocation is costing around £500k.
