What a fabulous evening of wine tasting with and last evening. Guests were treated to the house all gussied up for Christmas, roaring log fires, delicious grazing boards and 6 fabulous wines to try throughout the evening. Look out for all our ticketed events in our website and come see us!

This weekend see the return of the Findon Christmas Tree Festival and the whole village takes part! If you have time to come see us it’s on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 11am. St John the Baptist is filled with trees decorated by groups in the village: Messy Church, Men in Sheds, WI, Wild Arts and many many more. There’s a great tombola and lots of Christmas gifts to buy so if you have a spare hour come and support us. Plenty of free parking too! This is the Findon Place tree - it’s all about the bows and the swans this year!

We've seen many a drinks reception down by the pool - it's the perfect location for gathering your guests and enjoying the space. Canapes and champagne celebrating the newly married couple. Charlotte decorated the space simply with these giant white balloons and they captured everyone's attention - the children played with them and the guests posted with them for pictures. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Photo:

Gotta love a pile of cheese! Not everyone has a sweet tooth and these cheese wedding cakes have been around a while but my oh my they are just such a good idea. Some couples have them as part of their evening food - I've even seen it with giant rounds of pork pies with cheese rounds in between - lots of dried and fresh fruit, crackers, bread and chutneys and it all gets devoured pretty quickly!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Thank

First Dance: often the first time in the whole day that a couple are truly relaxed, they did it, an evening of dancing, drinking and general merriment awaits them. Our glorious Ballroom welcomes you and your guests to party the night away! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Charlotte changed into this super fun and flamboyant feather skirted dress for the evening - we love this - so much more movement! It seems like a lifetime ago already that Charlotte and Riccardo celebrated with us but it was only the summer!

The view from the Cedar Garden: most couples who choose to get married with us and a registrar choose, and with luck the weather is with us most of the time, to get married in the Cedar Garden. The steps beneath our great Cedar of Lebanon (did you know the Georgian's planted these trees to ward off evil spirits?) are a wonderfully elevated platform to not only see your guests seated in the garden with you but also for them to be able to see you. And your view is straight down this natural aisle to the swimming pool - often where couples choose to have their reception drinks. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The pool is beautiful but equally it's an opportunity to add some detail and masses of white balloons amongst floating florals definitely gives me wedding vibes!

We provide lunch on our day courses and today it was a recipe from the new Food from Friends cookbook. Lucky enough to have the proof copy of this wonderful community effort. The recipes have all been donated by village residents and this delicious Sausage, Apple and potato bake was much appreciated by all our lovely basket makers today! If you want a copy of this cook book they go on sale on the 2nd December at the Christmas Tree Festival at St John the Baptist

Quiet corners. This is a big house but still it's possible to find the cosy, and the create the cosy. Guests often tell us that they feel at home - often they'd like to move in! The Ballroom and Hall are grand rooms ready to welcome your guests but still there are those spaces with a couple of chairs and a table, a sofa to relax in, a fire to sit by and take a time out, catch up with an old friend or simply make a new one. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Long dining tables filled with family and friends all there to celebrate is one of the most friendly ways to eat. I loved this couple's style - gorgeous flowers from - great big meadow boxes transported from the church to the table ends and glassware and napkins in a selection of colours to compliment the floral colour scheme. Simple but effective! The top table is just that, centre of all the attention and this was a really effective way of making sure that everyone knew where to focus all that celebrating. .events1 hire plants - big and small for your event - large olive trees, potted vines, wonderfully statuesque pedestals and urns overflowing with hydrangeas or as here a green screen behind the top table

I love watching how tables come together, how couples style it out. Some couples choose to have the help of a wedding planner, some do it them selves with help of family and friends. This was a group effort - menus with a wax seal, a sprig of gypsophila and this damask napkin this lovely green - perfectly complimenting the flowers and candles.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The end of a surprisingly warm autumnal day makes me think back to this gorgeous wedding in the summer. worked with the couple on the planning. We loved the colour choices and the small details - my favorite being the personalized monogram that was carried over on stationery and matchbox favors but also the beautiful oragami cranes made by the Mother of the Bride which were used as place card holders - wonderful nod to the Japanese side of the family

Happy First! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone but it must be so because the Virginia Creeper on the house is once again autumnal red. This veil was one of the most gorgeous we’ve seen and it was like so many of the small details of the day: a wonderful book themed table plan, special Iranian tea and sugar swizzles, specially commissioned prints of both the house and Arundel Cathedral where they married. And all the colours of autumn! Hope you’re doing something marvellous today, with love Team Findon

On , Findon Place and Keep Me Breathing are delighted to announce The Leap Year Ball, to be held on Saturday 27th April 2024.

Hosted by Findon Place, a privately owned country estate nestled in the South Downs National Park at Findon, West Sussex.

Keep Me Breathing is a Sussex based charity set up by the parents of a child with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome launched in November 2022. Children with CCHS do not breathe while asleep, kept alive only by artificial life support via a machine. CCHS is a very rare disease. Because of this, there is no cure and no treatment beyond artificial life support every single night and sometimes during the day. Painfully, the technology to treat the disease exists but the investment does not. Until now. We are building the first ever treatment designed for CCHS. The Breathing Pacemaker.

Let me tell you a story…. Our groom decided to go and buy himself a very expensive very smart umbrella just in case it should rain on their special day. His theory was that if he had the umbrella he wouldn’t need it. It’s like the opposite of a rain dance. I am utterly convinced he has single handedly bought on this heatwave. Let’s give him a big cheer!!!
