Honoring Alison’s Legacy message from Mark

24 years ago, Alison started at Stokes Greengrocers on Cosham High Street. The owner saw her talent and asked her to create flower arrangements, sparking a passion that led her to college, where she completed all four levels of floristry training. From there, Shelia Love took her under her wing, and Alison worked with her until, without warning, the shop was sold to Penelope’s Petals—just as Alison had planned to buy it herself.

Determined as ever, she took another path and Mark and Alison bought Christies in Southsea for £15,000. That was the true beginning. She poured her heart into the business, crafting countless funeral tributes for Searsons and building a reputation for care, quality, and creativity. The journey continued when she expanded to the Copnor Road shop, where the business has flourished for the past 14 years since opening on September 1st.

Among the many incredible moments, one stands out—Alison holding the real FA Cup in 2008, standing proudly beside an arrangement she created for Portsmouth FC. It was a perfect reflection of her skill, dedication, and love for what she did.

Alison’s legacy is woven into every bouquet, tribute, and arrangement made over the years. Her passion and commitment live on, not just in the business she built but in the lives she touched along the way. Thank you to everyone who has supported her journey—we carry it forward with love and pride. We will honour her at our new premises too with pride and love

We’re Moving!

As many of you know, the current premises are being sold, which means it’s time for a new chapter. We’re excited to be relocating to 158-160 Copnor Road—a place many of you will know as Blooms and Balloons. While they are also moving on to a new venture, we will be bringing our own brand and identity to the space, continuing to provide the same friendly service and fresh flowers you’ve come to know and love.

This business has always been about more than just flowers—it’s been about community, kindness, and the spirit of Alison, who was the driving force behind it all. I hope she’d be proud to see us continuing to serve our wonderful customers in a new location, keeping that same warmth and dedication at the heart of everything we do.
