Epic day yesterday cooking for 400 people over the day for Daisy and Jack’s wedding, whole beef shoulder cooked away all day along with a whole manner of other cuts. WYLDS FEAST ALERT 🚨 We are back at Wylds farm on the 27th of July cooking up another tasty 4 courses of delicious fire food. For one of our corses we will be using chalk steam trout, born out of the rivers Test and Itchen, the waters are crystal clear giving the trout an amazing flavour, and of course, we will be giving it the Fire treatment. One of the first weddings of the year we catered for was back in April for the awesome Charlie and Sophie, so it was a real treat to get an email with some amazing photos of their special day along with some words that really touched our heart.
We work incredibly hard on what we do, so to get such nice feedback months later really puts a skip in our step.

SUPPER CLUB ALERT 🚨 join us on the 24th of June for four courses of amazing high welfare meat, treats from the sea, seasonal vegetables and amazing flavours all cooked over fire.
You will be treated with a welcome drink while you meet and mingle with your fellow diners and then taken to the communal table for your meal.
You will be introduced to every course to give you more of an idea of what tasty treats you will be eating.

Iris & Norm
So……5 years ago today Grate Catering and Events was born. I left working full time in an industry which I loved with all my heart, but in the end fell out of love with due to lots of reasons.
But my passion for good food and cooking still remained, and I wanted to have a go at doing it on my own.
The journey Grate has took has always been a bit of an organic one in the sense of how we identified ourselves and how we would cook.
It all started out with supper clubs right here at home. Then the fire element came into focus and this is where it has stayed.
We’ve met some amazing people’s on this journey who have helped us, guided us and given us support through some really tough times. For this I want to say thank you to all of you.
I also need to say that Grate would no longer be here if it wasn’t for the amazing talents of my amazing wife Iris. It sounds a bit cliche, but she really does put the flavour into grate.
There is more I want to say but I’ve gone on for too long now. But safe to say business is on the up and we’re loving it.
