What food will you be enjoying over Christmas? 🎄

For many, this time of year is all about a roast dinner – but do you know which veg is in season? 🤔

Luckily (or by design..!) lots of favourites are currently in season, including: cauliflower, leek, parsnip, potato, carrot, cabbage, spring onion, pear and brussels sprouts! 🥕🥬🥔

Eating seasonal food means we don't have to import food from different climates around the world which is more sustainable and reduces our carbon footprint.

Today marks the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. 6th June 1944. At 7:25am the first boats landed on the beaches to start the biggest, bravest battle ever fought. On the beaches the British Troops identified each other by calling out "Fish" and calling back "Chips". This is why the United Kingdom is commemorating the day with Fish & Chips and are honoured to be serving Fish & Chips in our schools as the main lunch of the day. We hope you can join in and honour those young men who fought and died for our freedom.

Happy St George's Day . Today is the first promotion of the Summer Term. Many more to come, but lets celebrate St George in all his glory. Saint George's Day has been celebrated annually on 23 April since 1222. George is the patron saint of soldiers, archers, cavalry and chivalry, farmers and field workers, riders and saddlers. 🎉🌟 Celebrating the incredible achievement of LCC Catering Service! 🌟🎉 We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully retained our prestigious Sugarwise Gold accreditation for the upcoming Spring Summer 2024 Menu. Not only that, but we have also outdone ourselves by reducing the sugar content by a further 3.5% compared to our current Autumn Winter menu!
