We'd like to give a huge thanks to Salwick's Charlie Biddlecombe and Declan Farrimond, of local plant and events hire company Nuff Hire, who raised a wonderful £400 for us after Christmas by collecting Christmas trees from homes throughout the Fylde area and asking for a donation to us in return! ❤🎄

Instead of chipping the trees, they donated them to the Fylde Sand Dunes Project, a project that's working to improve and grow local dunes as a natural sea defence.

Charlie explained: “The trees we collected are being buried in the sand on the foreshore to help build new sand dunes and improve coastal defences, as well as make the dunes a better place for wildlife and people to visit.

“This was our first year of running the scheme. We’d like to thank everyone who supported it. As it’s gone well, we’re planning on repeating it next year and will also be selling Christmas trees this December, which we then hope to collect in the January.”

What a fantastic initiative, supporting the local community in a number of ways - thanks so much to the two of you for kindly thinking of us! 🤗

🎄CHRISTMAS TREE CHARITY COLLECTION🎄
🎄Last collection day 13th of January🎄

We had a fantastic day collecting Christmas trees on Saturday for Rosemere Cancer Foundation. The trees are donated to Fylde Sand Dunes Who recycle Christmas trees by burying them in the sand on the foreshore to help build new sand dunes and improve coastal defence. Help us reach our goal by using our tree collection service or just by kindly donating towards this brillant local charity👍.

All you need to do is to donate a minimum of £10 to the just giving page.

This year we are offering Christmas tree collections with the aim to raise some money for a local charity Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
