One of our level 5 HE garden design / landscape students - Mia Power is fundraising for The Little Princess Trust. The charity sends donated hair to wig makers and then distributes the wigs to people up to the age of 24 all across the UK who are medically unable to grow hair of their own for all manner of reasons such as alopecia, cancer and various diseases free of charge. Celebrities like Harry Styles have previously been known to donate their hair to create wigs for these children and people like Livi Deane who was recently on the Traitors BBC TV show have spoken about how the wig donations they received as children filled them with confidence and made them feel normal when battling cancer.

In support of the charity, Mia has cut 15.5 inches off her 30 inches of hair to be sent off to make a wig. The process involved years of hair growth and healthy maintenance before the hair could be arranged in sections and cut off. It is then packaged and posted to the charity who will make it into a wig for a child who is in need.

We are excited to announce that due to high amounts of interest, we will be going forward with our annual Wreath Workshop! The workshop is run and held by Level 4 Floristry Students; we will be working alongside our Talented Tutor with many years experience in the floristry industry.
The workshop will take place at Myerscough Campus, meeting point Plantworld at 1:30pm, it will be held in Floristry classroom 3 until 4pm.
Tickets are priced at £25 per person, this includes all materials, tools, refreshments, expertise, and the wreath itself. Just wear appropriate shoes, clothing, and dress warm. Myerscough Flower Club are thinking of hosting a Wreath workshop on the 5th of December at 1:30pm, we are just wondering if this is something that you'd be interested in. If you are please could you respond to this post.
