Preston’s first annual Rockin’ Blues Festival was started by Colin Black – guitarist with blues club and festival favourites The Stumble – and lifelong live music fan, promoter and club owner Daniel Alderson in 2014. The festival was set up in response to the declining live music scene in the Preston area – particularly for blues acts – and also the gap in the market the two felt exists for Presto
n to create a new live venue and a quality festival for the UK blues circuit. The first festival took place at Tonic Live Lounge on May 31st 2014 to rave reviews and another blistering line up has been organised for this year’s last weekend in May. The main aim of the Preston Blues Fest – and its unique quality - is in its intention to always seek out and give some of the best bands on the circuit a chance to play to an intimate audience of committed blues enthusiasts. The organisers are determined to grow this unique festival into a bi-annual event hopefully building up in the future to a two day feast of blues with multiple stages and venues. Watch this space?
