Summer Gardens 💚

We took on some large home renovations last year, so the garden definitely took a back seat (photo 2022).

We're doing most of the renovations ourselves, so its definitely nowhere near finished (who needs flooring right?), but I'm really hoping to get the garden back in shape this year 🤞🤞🤞.

Kicking things off with some pruning and seed sowing this week 👩🏽‍🌾.

The truth is I can't. Every wedding is completely bespoke, designed down to every detail for each couple. And there are so many changeable factors for each wedding such as season, year, venue location (how much travel involved), wholesale prices, to name a few.

The secrets out...

I'm not a fan of Valentines day 😳

There will not be any Valentines bouquets available to order this year from The Meadow Box. There are many reasons, here are just a few....❤

Price - I find it disheartening to have to charge so much more for one day - Unfortunately wholesale prices go crazy during Valentines, and therefore florists have to charge accordingly to account for this 🌿

Supermarkets - It is so hard to go up against the supermarket giants who have bouquets on mass at a low cost in the run up to the big day. On the most part, flowers are loss leaders for supermarkets - they are sold at a low price (and a loss) to encourage customers in, where customers will then buy other, more profitable products, which counteracts any loss 🌿

Sustainability - There are some lovely spring flowers starting to appear in February in the UK, however the classic red rose is not one of them. These have to be imported from overseas, which is something as a business I'm trying to hold back from doing 🌿

I'm excited to share an alternative gift for Valentines day in the next couple of days,, keep your eyes peeled!
