Congratulations to Garry Coombs who played his 100th game for Wales against Finland today

Wales didn’t really get going and lost to an efficient Finland team.

That is the round robin complete with Wales finishing on a record of 3W - 4L.

Another strong performance saw Wales move onto a record of 3-3.

Their final round robin game is tomorrow morning against Finland.

Ahead of the game against Kenya earlier today, both teams had a combined Last Stone Draw total of 233.5cm! This is something neither team had seen before and the umpires had to get out the rulebook. Wales were awarded the hammer as Rhys’ draw shot was the closest individual stone.

Wales came up against a composed Ukraine team. They made some great shots but a couple of mistakes at key points gave them too much to do in the final end.

The next game is at 20:00 tomorrow against Germany.

World Curling's Annual General Assembly saw the election of two new Vice-Presidents from Norway and Australia, and two new Board members from Canada and Czechia.

Whilst attending World Curling's Annual Congress, our World Curling Representative, Lisa Peters, visited the The Royal Montreal Curling Club, the oldest sports club in North America. The ice prep was underway, but the stones were for display purposes only!

Our World Curling Representative, Lisa Peters, attended World Curling's Annual Congress in Montreal, Canada. Sessions covered using social media, floor curling, changes to the Development Assistance Programme, floor curling, sustainability, events, competitions and rules, and using data.

Last night, the WCA and FPOW both held their AGMs in Connah's Quay.

Members heard of the successes of the past year, including the return of the Welsh Bonspiel, organised games at The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, and the defence of the Kershaw Cup and three trophies at the Four Nations.

The Welsh Women's team were surprised with flowers and a commemorative photograph to celebrate their recent silver medals at the European Curling Championships C-Division 2024.

Eight Ender trophies were awarded to Em Simpson and Lisa Peters, who were part of the team that achieved the feat in the first session of the Welsh Bonspiel.
