Final morning ….. The Guitar Summer School is over for another year. Never thought it would be possible but our new venue @ Ammerdown exceeded all expectations and is the perfect setting for the Guitar Summer School ‘family’. The view from my window this morning and leaving the peaceful venue!

Fabulous end of course concert where each of the small ensembles performed the repertoire they had been working on during the week. Then the final ‘festivities’ 🍾

The Guitar Summer School’s two tutor/participant concerts (Wednesday and Thursday evening) were literally JOYFUL. 21 items. Students able to present solos, duets, ensembles and perform with tutors in the most stunning chapel at Ammerdown.

What a treat for the Guitar Summer School!
Zoe Barnett performed a stunning concert on Tuesday evening, followed by a very informative masterclass the day after. She has just completed her Masters Degree at the Royal College of Music and now launches fully into her performing career, although whilst studying already garnered recognition as an International Guitar Foundation Young Artist and also as a D'addario Artist.

Concert by Debra Adamson-Brattland in the beautiful chapel.
Relaxing in the bar.
Orchestra warm-up with Mark Eden, then orchestra led by Chris Stell 'I've got rhythm' and Capriol Suite.
Small ensemble sessions x 2.
CD shopping :)
Great food.
Amazing cream tea'.
Wonderful surroundings.

Sunday 11th August - Saturday 17th August
Week of concerts, workshops, talks, guitar orchestra, small ensembles and plenty of participant/tutor performance opportunities. Also great local produce food, bar, accommodation, croquet and beautiful surroundings.

Guitar Summer School offers classical guitarists a unique opportunity to participate in a varied programme of music making that allows students time to develop their playing and musicianship. Students work in a non-competitive and supportive environment, performing in ensembles both large and small. The course is suitable for players of all levels of ability but note that it is not suitable for complete beginners or someone who doesn’t read music at all.
