It was my dads 70th birthday at the weekend so still had a small family party in my garden. I would like to recommend and say thank you to the local businesses that helped make it a great lockdown party for us!
The cake looked and tasted fantastic was from the Boutique cake studio,Elm park

The shellfish from The Cheeky Cockle, Upminster

So, after cooking my lovely roast beef my oven is smoking!! I cook for Ardleigh Green nursery everyday, the only time they shut is Christmas! Anyway i need my ovens clean and ready for work so, i have an oven which has a clean function but i put my shelves on a hot wash in my dish washer and after half hr take them out and wire wool them, lovely and clean! Then while the dishwasher is still going put my washing bowl and drainer in!!

On a personal note, bought a lovely bit of beef for roasting from Leggs the butcher opposite the albion and it’s a lovely bit of beef! Always bring your meat out to room temperature, cook it on high @ 200 for about 20 mins to seal the juices then reduce for the remaining time. For this joint which i paid £15 for (sorry i didn’t clock the weight!)i cooked until 55 degrees and let rest for a good 45 mins. Resting really is the key people! But if you get a nice joint with plenty of fat which is good for roasting your potatoes then watch out for a smoking oven! but well worth it! x

Summer is only round the corner so if you have a birthday or celebration coming up why not let me come round your house and let me do a bbq for you. Must have own bbq. But i can bring my paella dish and tri pod and cook you a lovely paella!

Tracy met with all of us at the church club to discuss my late mothers wake arrangements as we wanted an bespoke buffet. She was able to design and provide exactly what we asked for including those lovely sausage rolls! Scones with clotted cream and fruit platters were excellent sweet choice for a finger buffet. The food arrived on trays with rigid plastic see-through lids and this made the buffet easy to open when we arrived back from the cemetery as Tracy had the job of providing hot drinks and biscuits to the guests while us the family were away. Tracy made a gluten free platter for a close family friend. During the wake Tracy mingled making sure everyone was served with what they needed and then helped tray up left over food for the family to take home. One of our friends noted how nice the stuffed ham and cheese croissants were. I will recommend Allmans Catering as we all knew that Tracy would take care of the food and we could get on with our special day. Thanks again Tracy.
