In honour of our first ever on the 8th of June; hundreds of florists are taking part in a meet the maker challenge.

Here’s my story…

It all began when I did my Year 10 work experience at a local florist shop when I was 15 years old; I enjoyed watching the florists create beautiful floral arrangements, the smell and experience of working within a flower filled shop and seeing the creative freedom the job entailed and encouraged. It was from that moment on that I decided when I finished school that I would like to pursue a career in Floristry.

I was always a creative individual who preferred the arts over any academic subjects at school. So when I started my floristry journey with a course at Writtle University College, I was in my creative element and was able to flourish.

After completing two years of studying floristry, whilst gaining two full distinctions and plenty of experience in several different shops; I decided to pursue my dream and start my own floristry wedding & event business in 2021.

I had always wanted to work for myself; to create my own wedding & event designs and bring my own floral visions to life…this is how Thistle & Fern was born when I was just 19 years old.

Now being 22 and three years on, I wouldn’t have changed a single thing and continue to fulfil my dream of working for myself whilst making my passion my full time job.

When supporting T&F through placing orders, wedding & event bookings, leaving glowing reviews, social media follows, likes & comments; you make that little 16 year old floristry student incredibly happy & proud!!
